Hello

I have a S3 with 42000 on the clock and as far as I'm aware the haldex oil and filter have not been change recently.

is it a hard job to complete, can you do it with out the special tool?

Is the haldex oil the lubricating oil for the diff to.

i seen a you tube vid but you can not really see where the filter is.

or should I just get audi to do it, what do they normally charge at the stealers
sorry for all the questions.

cheers Dan

There is a specific tool for it but you can get them on ebay - on the other hand, Audi do not charge an awful lot surprisingly for haldex service. From memory it is around £60!

Not worth doing yourself, it's on fixed price servicing for £79 get them to do it.

Audi won't change the filter on a gen.2 onwards haldex as it isn't on the schedule, the diff oil is seperate.

God that's reasonable. Got quote for S5 rear diff oil change from Audi this week ......£240! (Kerching)

So, is it wise to ask for the Haldex and Diff oil to be changed at the same time? And also ask them to replace the filter?

Cheers for the replys, I think I'll gan to the stealers and get them to change diff and haldex.

Cheers lads

Dan
