Thought id risk getting home on half way between the light and empty as left work a little late and had to get the kids from Childminders and tesco is always packed at that time so i went about it as i set off it dropped just over the empty line watched the dis and it went from 5 miles to 0 at trip reading 311m got to shell garage near my house and it was reading 328m and that was driving at 60 then 70 for a mile or two !! Averaged 28mpg this week so not to bad for the old girl lol
Done more on my big turbo swap, proved a ball ache so bought a Mondeo.
much better!
Whats the plans for it? Just a tidy-up-and-sell project or are you keeping it for something?
Out if interest, why do you hate the pd engine?
I am looking the green audis, mine are grey and silver yawn ha
I don't find the PD as reliable, there not as good on fuel, they don't like high miles compared to the old VE engines
this isint just my opinion..
my wee brother works for a diesel specialist and he says the PD engined cars tend to be more problematic compared to the old VE lumps.
my mates brother says he used to use the vag stuff for taxis but since they went PD he shied away from them as once they got to 200k plus they tend to need a bottom end rebuild or replacement engine whereas the older ones would run over 300k and still keep going
dont get me wrong the PD engined cars are quicker but at what cost?
my PD 130 was terrible on fuel as well. I couldn't average above 50mpg where as my 110 can easily see 55+mpg average and thats constant 4 wheel drive.Have to say though, all 3 of the 2.0tdi struggled to get average above 45mpg.
