Fitted my Revo engine and transmission mounts today, only took about 2 hours and I’m really happy. It does vibrate more but I kinda like it. Had to modify the charcoal canister but other than that no problems at all. Only been for a quick spin around the block but I’m liking how the car feels.

This week I got both rear brake disc cover plates replaced. Both had corroded quite a bit and were loose. One had started to rub on the brake disc, which made quite an alarming grinding noise. I believe this is relatively common.

This thread was really useful to figure out which size brake discs I have, and therefore the part numbers I needed:

Loving these, anyone thinking about it should do it! Also, the annoying rattles whilst going over the bumps have disappeared. My 10 year old stock mounts (along with the droplinks) must’ve been getting ready?? I’ll be upgrading from the dog bone insert to the Revo pendulum when I get chance.

WELL DAMN! I should have asked you to take pics of the roof where the bolts for the roof rails go so everyone can see it. A missed opportunity for sure

All stripped down, just waiting for the parts to arrive then hopefully get it all back together before a nice 12 hour night shift...

Dragged my old *** into the 21st century today and fitted one of these;

Not had time to have a proper play yet but the hands free and the Apple CarPlay are brilliant!

The car still only has three legs at the moment though, that’s tomorrow’s job.

I’ll post some up tomorrow mate. I’m really happy with how it looks, there are no buttons or ports on the front so it looks really clean. Plug and play wiring harness that looks after the Bose and MFSW too....

Mine was Symphony 2 by the way, not RSN-E....

Not the best picture but it’s been a busy day. The white sticker on the bottom has now gone and the blue buttons on the left hand side are now red to match the heater controls. I’m really happy with it although it was probably assembled in China haha. CarPlay works really well and it sounds great. The phone quality is brilliant after getting used to the interference I had when I retrofitted the Audi Bluetooth module.

Where you install that dab antenna?

I like it the stereo and i also don't at the same time don't get me pioneer is the if not one the best head unit brands available and the thought of all the day to day features now accessible because of it is exciting. But it just feels like something is missing ....

Think I’m in the same boat as you mate, I’d love to upgrade from the rnse, but to me, that looks wrong...
I’ve got CarPlay in my Peugeot van, Bluetooth speakers at home, wireless headphones and AirPods etc, so plugging into the aux every time I drive it feels a bit dated.
But I couldn’t swap to something like that when, to me, it looks too out of place

I resisted until I went in my brother’s 16 plate Octavia VRS which has touch screen. Pioneer have always been pretty good and I’ve been using iPhone for years do I thought why not?? The antenna is tucked behind the headlining above the passenger side of the windscreen with the cable hidden nicely down the A pillar and behind the glove box. I fitted the more reliable FM adapter too so all bases covered.

The main advantage over RSN-E is being able to use Google Maps which, for me is the best Sat-Nav going. It’s great having the bigger screen and speaker output instead of the phone mounted on the dash. I had RSN-E in my A4 and I hated the navigation.

Here’s a photo of my Pioneer setup. The key is to get the right Connects fascia so it fits nice and flush.

Do agree the rnse nav is a bit sh!t but it’s not often I need to use it, I think for the mileage I do it’s not worth the eyesore or expense.
Whenever I do a long trip I just input the exact location and click same route as Apple maps.

I take it your S3 is your daily?

I think they look great - what model are these? I’m in New Zealand now and we don’t do DAB here (no take-up after Government trials apparently) but I’d like a change from the RNSE, which, doesn’t have/get NZ maps.

I know there is an ICE forum and without starting a new thread (or researching) is the bezel/filler panel easy to come by, any additional parts needed ?
