Arghhh, doesn't bode well. Know anyone with VCDS to scan it to get a feel for what exactly could be wrong? If not, perhaps someone on here could scan it for you - whereabouts are you?Ive had my s4 for a day now. Not even properly booted since owning it and a warning light has come on the dash. Bought privately 60 plate.

Tbh i havent checked if it skips gears but it might be. Very slugish and slowWhat's the symptoms? Have you lost gears with the error? Either odd gears or even?
Any clunking when going 2-1? Reverse engaging ok?
You can get an OBD reader and carista app to scan the codes
S4 MRC Stage 2+ gone
Stealth Black XFS now more sensible

Depends on if you're confident doing it yourself, the circuit boards can be picked up for under £500Big or little prob

So could be done cheaper privateDepends on if you're confident doing it yourself, the circuit boards can be picked up for under £500
I imagine this is a worrying time for you, and you're bound to have lots of questions driving around in your head. Realistically though, you're not going to know anything until the car's had a scan to diagnose what is actually wrong. Until then, everything about what might need doing, who could do it, and how much it might cost, is guesswork. So could be done cheaper private

Yeah i know what you mean. Its like googling a pain in your foot. The internet will tell you you've got 24hrs to live. It does clunk a lot sometimes changing from park to driveCould've just been sticky gear actuator solenoids, unlikely to be the clutch due to the dithering.
