I will need my S3 servicing in July and the company I might use can paint my brake calipers but I am unsure what colour to go for?

Iv'e seen a lot in red which I like but I think I want to be different.

I am wanting yellow but is it a bit too loud? otherwise I did think blue or just stick with the original grey. Anyone got pictures of theirs painted? My car is black with the speedline wheels being a anthracite finish.

Do you think yellow would put off future buyers when I come to sell it?

I would say red would suit a black car. Yellow just wouldn't look good at all

I agree, I'll be going for red calipers on my black S3, black would look good too. Yellow calipers only suit blue or yellow S3's from what I've seen.

I know the mrs would go mad if I had yellow. I know it's a completely different car but seen pictures of black or very dark grey lambo's with yellow but Lamborghini's are in your face cars to start with.

Guess you lose the "S3" bit on there if they get refurbed right?

Nothing wrong will yellow. Just depends on your car colour :racer:

Ive just splashed out on some gold paint to sit behind my wheels, got some center caps that are going gold too to match and see how they go., bit more subtle and classier than yellow.
Will post a pic up when I have done them, this weekend weather permitting.

why not try out either one off these colours a nice light blue or go for the Ford rs green . would easily make the car stand out .

I would agree with the Mrs. We have to keep on their good side, otherwise certain rights may be withdrawn.

I never get those rights even when I'm good

Gold or bronze, especially with anthracite/gunmetal coloured alloys!

Absolutely, smacks of boy racer and pretty pointless as it draws attention to the fact you have std calipers.

I do like yellow but I think it puts a lot of people off. Can't decide out of red or bronze?

The mrs wouldn't let me get a yellow S3

has to be red ... youll gain at least 3BHP doing so too :wink new:

Its not just the car colour though, the colour of the alloys plays as big a part.

Yellow looks good on black cars with black alloys in my opinion but they do appear really bright being surrounded with so much black, I'll fairly soon be going for yellow on my car, my alloys are standard silver (is it called brilliant silver or hyper-silver maybe?), so the yellow won't actually look too loud in my opinion (but I have piddly little brakes on mine!)

You got me on one now. Could get some nice dust caps but know my luck some tw@t will nick them

I've had fancy dust caps a a couple of cars in the past, don't last long either before they disappear.

Just remember to grease them up otherwise you will be ripping you're valves off when they stick on

A more rewarding solution ... get a couple of these installed under the wheel arch

These were the best I found and have lasted me fine for a year now, you can also get them in silver: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-S-Li...961150?hash=item237ee7937e:g:FmoAAOSwUEVYD811

That tw@t you speak of will be a lot less likely to be carrying the correct sized allen key with him, I just keep it in the car.

Last time I had a set on a car was about 10 years. Caught the little s*** in the act at work.

Kid was almost crying when I got through with him. Still got his pair of pillers at home lol

Car is all booked in for next month but the only colours they do are black or red. I showed them those ebay stickers and they said they could stick them on for me. I wanted red but would they look rubbish with the red 'S3' logo? Not sure what to do

Got them done. Turned out in the end they could only do red or black so I went for black so the S3 logo would show up more. Very pleased with the results

looks smart! Matches the wheels well, I'm tempted to go a dark purple:whistle2:. I have a feeling the novelty may wear off quite quickly though...

Looks good mate, I'm tempted to get black or red myself, do you mind me asking how much it cost?

£170 plus the cost of the ebay stickers but they wished they viewed the car in person first as the back the calipers where very pitted and nasty. They reckon the back ones took about 6 hours to do.

Nice one thanks for the info bud.

My rear one's are terrible, one's completely peeled now and the other is not far behind, it looks horrendous. I've got a place not far from me so I will have to go there to get their opinion first then by the sounds of it.

The place that did mine are japex in kings Langley
