What have you done today?

I had paint specks on my car (8L1) from someone painting the outside of the house and they never put a cover on my car a few weeks ago when I was away. It was covered in specks from nose to tail from the paint roller when I came back. Just finished today after spending 2 days of clay bar-ing (Auto Glym) and waxing (Carnauba). The clay worked a treat to remove all the specks from the bodywork. It was an almighty pain time-wise to do. I still have to get the paint specks off the windows, wondering if I should clay bar them too or try something else. Would love some tips to remove it from the plastic and rubber trim. Tried the clay bar but the rubber door trim was turning the clay black so I had to stop.

Yeah I was considering the blade, just nervous about scratching the glass. I clay barred the rear window today which was the worst one and worked fine but time-wise the blade would be 100x faster for the other windows. The house paint is water based and the tar remover is oil based, so who knows, might work great. Would you use a dish sponge, toothbrush, or a microfibre cloth with it? Trying to compromise between preserving the plastics and rubbers yet use a suitable abrasive to remove the paint. Would you use back-to-black then to reseal the trim?

If you do go for the Autoglym Bumper care, just make sure you keep the bottle indoors,at room temperature,as if you leave it in a cold garage over the winter,it tends to solidify and it rubbish after that.

Just get an APC for plastics and it should remove them easy and for the windscreen get some fine wire wool like a 000 or something, it'll never never do any damage to your glass, a lot of bodywork guys use it to remove any over spray etc.

Where's the fun with an LED flare though ?

The amount of distress these 8Ls can cause there owners they should be a boot full of them.

Washer light kept coming on shortly after topping up, took it out today and found that the rubber plunger seal under the blue bit had been forced into the container, fished it out and refitted it. Also changed some bulbs, having an issue with brake warning light coming on, when I was fiddling with the passenger side wires the brake lights would go out and set the warning light on...guessing I need a new unit or wires?

Sounds like a short that would then blow your fuse. Yep check the bulb housing and wiring like you said.

No fuses gone, the warning light just comes on randomly when pressing the brake.

It doesn't come up as a fault, the only fault that comes up is the central locking which is showing alarm horn as the fault. Would the brake lights go out if brake switch is faulty? The bulbs themselves work fine apart from when the warning light comes on

hmmm usually the brake light switch throws a code

maybe the housing is something you need to remove and inspect. could be damage/corrosion?

Spent a cold evening waiting for a gap in the clouds to take a picture of the 'Super' Moon :)

Not exactly today but dropped the car off at Bills on Monday to get new rods turbo and such. Was an interesting experience first time in England and watching Bill tune an Ibiza. Looking forward to picking it up in a month. Thanks for the hospitality Bill.

whoa what is the weight savings on that!??!?! link???

Subframe, arms and hardware comes to 7.6kg saving over OEM cast arms etc.

Allows full independant camber and caster adjustment up to limits of the driveshaft CV.

Subframe I'm testing there includes roll centre correction and better geo by raising the rack and arm mounting points.

Design of the arms has changed since the listing and store pics

Finally fitted my poly arb bushes, unlike most aftermarket ones that are bright in colour, yellow, red, blue etc, these ones are black and look just like the OE stock ones (which i prefer)

Stole my GF's winter wheels to replace the silly small tire wheel combo I bought second hand (it was a good deal, but it ended up getting the car too low for a daily driver)

Guess which ones are too small.

On the other hand the TTE's are in dire need or a refurb :-/
