What have you done to your 8V today?

No I didn't know you had too or could, I just changed the paper filter for the revo one as per instructions

when I did the write up for the airbox mod, I recommended removing this as it's a resonator and quietens down the induction and turbo noise.

I've carried out the rest of the airbox mod, which includes opening up the intake on the slam panel too.
I still run the oem paper filter...which I will change to, most likely, the vwr filter.

gave the s3 a good thrashing lastnight.
I found that at 120mph the clutch is starting to slip.
it may have slipped around 70 and 80 too but it was defiantly there at the higher speed.

eased off and then back up to 155+ and it was OK.
I'm running a dtuk fsr + on 3+3 at the moment and 1+3 kept killing boost sensors.
I really didn't think it would have enough torque to be slipping a clutch at those sorta speeds.

so if the clutch does **** itself, what clutch kits out there are top ? I plan on taking the dtuk box off again, but then I plan to be going tte525r in due course, so I want a clutch kit that'll hold up for that also.

also
now for a few weeks I've had a suspension knock from the osf. it's still on oe suspension so I'll get it in to have it sorted soon.
but I've found that it's handling has gone rather sloppy. I have to almost force it to stay in Lane, and be careful on the twisties and bends. it's almost as if I have super gash tyres and highly over inflated and driving on grease at times.

can the smallest of things, I suspect a worn bush, cause such a drastic affect on the handling?

(I actually have michelin ps4 fitted at the moment all round, in good condition.)

LoL Sunday drivers !!!!

Could be strut mounts, do you get the knock going over speed bumps 5mph ?

Pretty sure if I remember correctly it says to remove the snow grate in the Revo instructions - download the on line PDF for latest ones. As Rogers says this is a blockage for air flow , think I've read somewhere 5-7bhp just by removing it !!

Is this the ribbed bottom part of the airbox underneath the filter, I thought that was just the bottom of the air box,

It is mate - it just clips in and needs a fair bit of upward force at the clipping points.

It's kind of the half way part of the box air from the intake comes in the lower section of the air box through the filter and exits towards the turbo through the hose at the back of the top half.

Adapted the RS3 badge base and superglued the S3 letters on, not perfect but looks alright to me. Need an S3 badge that fits this grill properly

Won't take you too long mate.

No, unfortunately not still having issues with wheelspin and poorly 4WD had a Haldex repair kit fitted on Friday but still no joy. Got something in the boot of my car that'll hopefully cure it when it goes back in on Tuesday so fingers crossed!

Look what mr postman brought for me today,
Finally got round to the upgrades today..
Not a good idea with a stinking hangover, but persevered and it sounds awesome.

Definitely notice the added grunt, I was surprised by how restrictive the oem turbo inlet was compared to the cts one.

So all installed, new turbo inlet, turbo muffler delete and revo intake.

Where did you order your CTS inlet pipe from?

Yeah it's over big bumps, the full width of the road ones and cobbled roads at low speeds, sub 10mph anyway.

going over the small bumps that just catch the inners of the tyres, make no noise. at any speeds.

Installed my ClearMounts two weeks ago (only took a week to arrive from ordering). Extremely pleased - very simple to install, and the most elegant and minimalist solution I've come across for mounting my iPhone. Nice pics!!

Got sent this lovely photo of my car from a promo photo shoot I attended recently for a new upcoming car show in NI called Cars at The Mill. Picture was taken by the fabulously talented Reinis Babrovskis, here's a link to some of his work http://reinisbphotography.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1

@testcard @TMB looks very clever and neat

How is it with bumpy roads? Does the phone hold it's angle?

Can't tell if you have the swivel or not?

Do the vents click back in properly with that plastic bit behind them?

I've ordered a magnaball but has been ages (1 month), they're having stocking issues. I am tempted to wait for that, but at the same time I am tempted to get the money back and get this although this is a bit more money and not quite as discreet as the magnaball (and limited to the one location between the vents as opposed to the magnaball)

Hmmm

The magnet is really strong, havent driven on extremely bumpy roads yet but I don't think it'll be a problem. There's a video where someone fits an iPad to it...

I ordered the swivel version (and an extra set of magnets for my wife's phone). I like to be able to adjust the angle a little towards me when I'm driving.

They click back just like they would of you refitted them without the mount in between :)

As TMB noted, it's a very powerful magnet and after using it for over two weeks on a variety of roads it hasn't moved once. I don't have the swivel version as the natural angle of the dashboard leaves the iPhone's screen easily visible from the driving position. The frame of the mount is laser cut metal so it has a thin profile and doesn't affect the positioning of the vents - they click back fully into place. I also bought a 0.5m Lightning cable from Amazon which is ideal for charging the iPhone when it's sitting on the new mount.

Swapped the glovebox bulb to LED. It's the only bulb in the car that didn't come with LED for some odd reason. Not the best pics but IRL the LED is much brighter and not as blue as it looks.

What have I done in my car today? = Had a heart in the mouth moment!

Whilst taking my mum to the care home to visit my dad she asked if we could nip into the supermarket just to get a couple of things she'd forgotten. I got close to the entrance to save her walking far (extreme parking was out of the window on this occasion :)).
Anyway this is it, doesn't look as close now, but at the time the 30 second in area of the vid was worrying...thought she wasn't going to stop before a BANG:

This is why extreme parking exists :D

It's only about 2, seen dyno graph from 034, but any air flow increase is nevertheless welcome...

Clocks gone back so was time for a pre winter bit of TLC, a bit early maybe but I am away in the sun for a week then after I get back I am having my other knee replaced so will have to sit and look and not drive for a month or so.

Here is the end result, pretty shiny IMHO especially as its still a bit grey and misty round these parts, that's why I am off to get some sun :)

Was on my way to MK (20 mins journey) and my engine oil light scream at me, its due for a service next year and after my trip to Costco I went to Tesco and got this. Checked the dip stick before topping up and it was just abouve the min level. Didn't want to risk of having any damage done to my engine so got this. I know audi will drain it but thats not till 5 days away. Wont risk my engine being put on strain till then.
