Hey,

I was just wondering if there exsists an aftermarket twin turbo kit for the A3. Im planning a large and extensive modifying run and thought that twin Charging the A3 was a good idea.

So my question to you is.....do they exsist or is it possible to bolt Audi OE twin turbos to them?

Step 1. Open up the bonnet

Step 2. Observe how much room there is

Step 3. Ask yourself how the hell am i going to fit two turbos there

hmmm....i dont even think you will gain any more power on twin turbo setup VS a single big turbo setup

it has been done...3.2... thousands of dosh....is it worth it?

Option 1... sell A3 and buy and S4
Option 2... keep A3 and get a bigger (single) turbo

...simples... :icon_thumright:

If you have a bottomless pit of cash then anything is possible.

FazS3 had a twin turbo S3 2.7 PROPER 4wd and recently sold it for around £20k

Anything is possible if you have the cash. Seen a E30 BMW with a 5 litre V10 in it lol.

Like what most people have said already, its means you have to have deep pockets. I would personally go for a 3.2 turbo

Have you read andrews 2.1 conversion, that could be worth a go at, then get a bigger turbo on that.

twin charge a 20vt? because it has so many issues with low end grunt?

this thread is stupid

Right. Since some people think it's stupid and some say its hard I think im just going to fit a larger single turbo for now. But......just because somethings hard and expensive doesnt mean it's not worth trying, so im going to keep that idea in the back of my mind for the future.

It would be good having power from 2500 revs all the way up to the limiter though! But if i had a few million tucked away id be getting all sorts of cars custom built!

something liek this should give you some decent boost.

GT78 21R is the norm, read the stickies at the top of this section as there is a BT thread which has loads of info for you

Now your talking! Do samco do a line of Silicone hoses to go with it? if so, im gettin' me that big *** turbo!

Not sure on that one but it would have to be paired with a set of Mashimoto ZX tyres to hold all that power.

Best questions to ask at this time is power expectations and budget as this will decide what route you take...

If your A3 is a quattro then larger turbos are the way forward, with FWD its not worth going more than mid 300's (especially if its going to be a daily driver/road car) as you just cannot get the power down...

It's a quattro and i will have a fairly large budget and an even bigger time frame. I will be using it as a daily driver, i was hoping to get about 300-320 BHP.

TBH, even 350bhp feels lethargic in a quattro :)

Have a look at my build thread (link in my sig) and also Mat20vt's A3 quattro build thread (http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showthread.php?52270-A3-Quattro-build-thread) for ideas....

The choices are essentially hybrid K04 which should give you a very drivable power output of (potentially) near the 300bhp mark but with quite a lot of torque or big turbo... GT3071r is a good unit for the quattro A3, plenty of power capability and perfectly drivable with the right hotside...

i was torn between the audi and my old golf from the day i got the audi. the audi is fantastic (super quick dash into london to pick up furniture the missus won on ebay. hatchbacks are practical, a super sonic estate, however, is better. you get there in double quick time, no hassle squeezing the cupboard into your car. then you dash off, another 100 miles to colchester because thats the ONLY place in essex that has a Mac Cosmetics counter and you NEED the latest special edition lipsticks (im really not joking)

the s4 rules. but then i went out yesterday to a car show and had 10x the fun on the b roads heading out there because the Golf is a right hoot
