Gents,

Nearly a year ago now, one morning I just lost multiple DAB radio stations in my car.
I've scanned for new channels and its not re-found them - no matter where in the county I am, the signal strength locally hasn't changed, as my other Audi hasn't lost the stations!

I'm wondering is the MMI for the early A7s not capable of receiving DAB+ signals? Would an MMI update somehow resolve this?
I'm pretty sure its not the aerial, as my Sat-Nav still works spot on and I'm still receiving certain stations.

Thanks in advance!

ive got a 2011/2012 with tech pack which includes dab and mmi 3g high . i have installed latest firmware installed up to date for all my systems including audi connect etc

i dont rate dab its garbage and would be a terrible retrofit versus cost for someone to install in my opinion.

major city listening is ok but running up and down m6 etc the stations are mostly non existent , i have found in the past that dashcams , retrofit rear cameras or power cabling routed too near ariel on other motors badly intefere with the signal strength but on this car i have not even bothered to see if thats the case because i rarely use dab.

correct me if im wrong but i understand gps for satnav and dab for radio are different ariels?

The DAB antennas for the 7 are embedded within the rear screen.
There are aerial amplifiers between the antenna and the head unit.
The DAB signal has always been terrible on my S7, and multiple attempts by Audi to resolve the problem went no where, despite changing a number of components.
I now use BBC Sounds app on Android Auto for digital BBC stations.

Cheers Gents,
Just annoying, I've had the car 5 years now and never had any issues - just thought it was strange how all the DAB+ channels had been lost.
I was under the impression both antennas were in the sharkfin - so thats interesting to know. I guess I'll just have to put up with half the channels i used to have then, shame!

My SQ5 did it when i owned. It was under warranty so back to the dealer & they sorted it with a software update?.
