What Detailing / Car Care Products Have You Bought / Ordered Today?

Folks, do we know if Bead Maker is safe on ceramic coating, e.g. Gyeon Q2 DuraFlex. I have tried asking our trusted friend Google but couldn't find a definite answer.
It's a water based quick detailer so l don't see why not but ...*** Keep Fairy Liquid the hell away from it . .... . . Lol

In full knowledge that I’m likely to get the pee ripped right out of me for this (but can’t be as bad as using The old mild green to wash your car with, lol), I’ve picked up one of these (I think my detailing depravity has hit a new low - but sharing as this is a ‘safe’ place :whistle2:).

Chemical Guys Dust Monster XL - Australian merino wool car duster:

So, you’ve spent hours detailing your car, and even if garaged, a day later it’s covered in a fine layer of dust and pollen. It’s not ‘dirty’ - just has loose dust sitting on it. Grrr. Spin the handle between your two hands to fluff it up, then lightly (with zero pressure), whisk the surface dust off your motor. Detailed m’car on Friday, and have been using this to very gently take the surface dust off before putting it to bed at night int’ garage. Still looks fresh as a daisy. Reckon any of you lot who use a DA polisher might find this useful to remove polish dusting while you’re working with the DA.

Taken the plunge and splashed out (ha ha!) on the Vyair 11ltr. Should arrive in time for the weekend - hoping it’ll be worth the dosh. Essex water is pretty hard!

Good stuff mate, with the weekend in mind make sure you have enough fittings for it. My Amazon order didnt arrive in time so had to grab one from a neighbour to have a play when mine arrived.

You are leaving if for far too long if you are using elbow grease. Remember, for waxing less is always more. Depending on the wax you use each wax has a hazing time make sure you are letting it settle for the appropriate time and then buff off.

In case you are still struggling you can always use a QD over the wax and buff off or re-apply wax and then buff off immediately.

Thx for replying. I'm using BH double speed wax. After applying the coat, I leave it to dry until I can move it with my finger using gentle pressure. However, it still needs a good amount of effort to buff it right off. I'm happy with the result but it's hard work :) I have a QD spray, I'll give it a go next time.

Cheers,

Dan

In my experience the more expensive the wax the easier it is to apply and remove mate

Autoglym UHD wax is one of the best out there, also slightly dampen the wax applicator before applying and it'll go on smoother easier

I'll deffo give that a try once mine is finished. The curious thing is that the manufacturer's instructions for mine say that there moisture should be avoided... Do you think I can do the same with the BH one I currently have?
Thx

I find that you use such little wax each go, mine will probably last 20 years

BH themselves recommend dampening the applicator pad a tad bit for ease of use - see below:

Winner winner chicken dinner. I still have SO much BSD, lasts ages! Helped by the fact I have loads of other QD’s

Same here but it'd be rude not to at that price!!
Still got most of a bottle of BSD, 95% bottle of D&D and a full bottle of CG V7 at the moment.

Need to stop looking for bargains really before it becomes a problem :wink new:

Mike

I bought one from In2detailing.
Cheers Scotty, looks good that! My current one doesn't really lift up the dirt so is still quite hard work. Not that the carpet is dirty, just wanting to keep on top of it. It looks quite a stiff bristled brush?

It's not an overly stiff bristled brush to be honest mate. That said it was absolutely spot on for the fabric parts of my s-line seats and the carpets.

One tip. Spray the Absolution on and let it dwell for a few minutes before agitating with a brush . Really use mustard

Right, so I've now got the Vyair, AG Snow Foam, AG Polar wash, Megs Tyre Dressing, AG Leather Cleaner, tons of micro-fibre and of course the Sonax BSD to supplement the AG Wax already on there.......Got the grandkids staying over tonight though, so it might be diplomatic to wait until Sunday/Monday but I'm itching to get on with it!

Trolley jack, torque wrench, and hammerite at the ready for a later date to do the hubs (will obvs clean the wheels at same time, but going to lift them one by one, rather lift one end and use axle stands....
