What have you done to your 8V today?

I managed to get door cards from and Audi specialist breakers (quite rare to come by but the cards weren't as tidy as hoped and didn't have B+O my cards do and are like new so I swapped the handles The same car had marks on the console so I passed up on that.. The console was from an RS3 with exactly the same colour stitching etc from another member with only 3K miles who upgraded to the design pack.
I think the console is like £115 from Audi but the door cards are expensive
Do you mind PM’ing or replying with the brokers name a mate of mine is looking for some parts for his Audi and really struggling to get hold of anyone.

Hey, I’m new here, had my Audi (A3 35 TFSI S Line Sportback) for couple of weeks now, just posted some pics in the pic thread. Anyway, today I fitted these:

Make sure you get Audi glass especially if you have a sun band/sound proof/heat insulating or any driver assistance. I had to ask some people have got it for free i had to pay a little bit extra at most £50.... can't really remember but it was a no brainer ...

Car went in for 30k service today all good cost £260 though.... then they wanted £15 for a "hire" car no longer a courtesy car.... Other than that really good service at Audi MK

They gave me a A3 Sline Sportback 1.0 3cylinder 30 TFSi very strangely specified, Sline body kit, Virtual cockpit but nothing else....

The 1.0 was surprisingly good and completely sufficient for an A3 sized car got 42mpg out of it for 70 miles of mixed driving. It made a really funny noise though . The engine was also tiny in the bay it just looked wrong in comparison to the e-tron which is crammed in !

Fitted a Pipercross panel filter. Now I just need a new turbo inlet elbow and the car is ready to get the JB4 mounted :racer:

Picked my car up yesterday. Good as new! I will now get it ceramic coated.
Got a question for you more savvy folks; Are all S3s built after September last year the new PPF models? Are these the my19 models?

Cheers

Ordered and collected my front mudflaps for the A3. I know not to everyone’s liking but i always have a set on the front of all my cars past and present. Haven’t fitted them yet but feel quite sturdy compared to other manufacturers in the past.

Left car with Indie (Afor Audi) in Glasgow this morning for air con service and haldex gauze filter clean.

Very convenient for city centre workers like me - park car in Qpark in city centre. AfA have a small reception/office next door and car is taken and delivered back.

TBF the Audi voice recognition is very mediocre. Better off using Android Auto / Apple CarPlay. Very handy, life saver for myself.

Thanks I sure it is much better I use google maps on my android phone when walking.

I would try Android Auto for its Sat Nav features but I presume there are a number of downsides - i.e. Having to revert to native Sat Nav whenever I want to listen to the cars DAB radio; not being able to use the Central console Media/Telephone/Sat Nav/Radio toggle switches & MENU/BACK buttons (all of which I find perfect when driving). Not having the little nav direction graphic on the Information Display which again I find very useful.

Pros and Cons I guess.

Wrapped my wing mirrors gloss black last night, then gave her a scrub today.

Any thoughts or comments welcome as I know some are on the fence with this mod...thanks to @MA3RC for the assistance.

hey, is that a splitter and side skirts fitted i can see? if so any details as to brand and where to buy? thanks

Yes mate. Both the splitter and diffuser are from Rieger. There’s an authorised UK distributor on ebay called Online Autosport. The side skirts are from Maxton Design. I had Maxtons splitter before as well but damaged it and swapped for the Rieger.

Ah nice Rieger is what i had seen online but couldn't find side skirts. I shall take a look. thank you. Also cheeky ask but do you have any clear pics of both fitted by any chance, image online is too close up of it. and was it any trouble fitting im guessing both require some drilling?

thanks and sorry for too many questions

No apology necessary sir.

The skirts and splitter are simple; offer it up, drill the holes, screw in. Probably easier with two but more than doable alone. Although the skirts only had a random arrow on them, but to be fair you could get away with having them facing in any direction - they’re a weird shape.

The diffuser is more involved. 2-3 hours by myself but went in blind.

Always buy self tapping torx screws to use - T20 or T25 is fine. The bolts or rivetts they supply are overkill.

I’ll have a dig for some pics.

These are the only two I can upload, the other files are too big (any help is welcome here to get them on).

The first is from a while back with the Maxton splitter on.

Fitted the new summer rims "original 19inch S3 Twinspokes" with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres. Luckily i had a spare set TPMS sensors for the new wheels.

Do we need the TPMS sensors? I thought the 8V A3 had a passive TPMS, managed by the ABS. Is that wrong?

I have retrofitted active TPMS:)

Where do you see readings? On MMI?
Press left hand soft key on steering wheel and then select sports displays on the VC But you will only have preasue and temps here if you have Active TPMS . Also under the service menus in the MMI

Only on RS3 with correct pack or if you have not retro fitted it ...

But does we need the VC to have this feature? Does it work with a mono chrome display and standard MMI, 2019 A3?

Yes it should work. But you need an extended can gateway to make this work. Do you have any assist systems?

A3 8V Facelift Limousine

I'm collecting the car next week. Of all the assistant systems there will be rear PDC, a standard non adaptive cruise control and a hill hold assist. That's all.

Displaying the data on the main MMI screen would be nice and enough to me. But what do I need besides the TPMS sensors inside the wheels?

Control module, wiring, active TPMS sensors, coding.

Have done a number of these retrofits now :)

New cam belt and water pump fitted today and because of that, ALL the MOT's today(passed by the way) and in the future are free at any Audi garage!

Did basic airbox mod by removing snow grate, added high flow air filter and replaced stock flex hose with CTS turbo hose. If you order from CTS the part is CTS Turbo MK7 GTI Turbo Inlet Hose.

Also purchased Carista dongle and made some changes via app. I have new performance rotors and pads to install and the Carista App allows you to release the rear brakes for service. I bought a cheap toolset to do it manually in case the app doesn't do it.

I have some other things I wanna try as well. Just work way too much.

Folding mirrors are not needed for reverse dip although it does not work 100%. It's enabled as standard when you have folding mirrors.

By not working 100% what do you mean ?? Not return to where the mirror was or sometimes doesn’t seem to work at all ??
