What have you done to your 8V today?

Bit of an upgrade before my clutch and remap. R600, turbo technics hose and APR muffler delete.

Dropped my car off at Audi to get the door repaired. It's going to be replaced and the side panels next to it will have to be paint matched...

Who cares about a boring A5, who's is the Mustang?
To be back on topic.......car is looking forward to its next karcher wash..........in july when it is serviced :)

How did you find the fitting of it all. Pretty straight forward of a pain in the rear?

I fitted the muffler delete years ago, and remember being a bit daunted as it was my first mod...but as you're going to have the stock airbox out you'll have loads of room to work and see what you're doing...worry not!

Last week I refitted my DV+, cleaned the TT inlet pipe, and installed the R600...all in two hours.

Once the stock airbox and inlet pipe is off I'd lay an old rag or towel underneath your working area...I dropped a bolt through the engine bay ages ago and it scared the s**t out of me...luckily it ended up on the belly pan and I managed to find it. I'd also put a small (clean) rag inside the turbo once the stock parts are off, just in case you do drop a bolt...god forbid anything ends up in there.

A couple of screw holes on the R600 needed a push and a pull to line up, mainly on the front intake panel but nothing major.

Happy modding bud!

I feel you mate, I happened to be in that unfortunate situation myself a week ago.
Cheers mate. I don’t even know how or when it happened. Thought it was a mark the wipers had made.
Must say the set up for arranging Autoglas online is excellent.
Wednesday before they replace it though.

Very smooth repair service they have, I managed to get it done the next day!

I’ve arranged it at home so that they can use the garage if the weather’s bad.
Hope all goes to plan (and they don’t steal all my tools while I’m at work and Mrs Bairn supervises lol)

Wife discovered I had bought my 'new' beloved A3 a set of Audi 'branded' dust caps on ebay. (sad I know). She noted the car already has more cosmetics/waxings/perfumes etc than she does and now I am buying it earrings. My protests that they only cost £3 did not help much.

Plus spent an hour trying to learn how to enter destinations by voice control with about as much success as Teresa May negotiating with the EU.

But Happy Days.

Installed the ECS tuning flush kit which consists of 10mm front and 17.5mm rear spacers along with appropriate wheel bolts. Love the look.

TBF the Audi voice recognition is very mediocre. Better off using Android Auto / Apple CarPlay. Very handy, life saver for myself.

Do AUDI retro fit the extended leather or 3rd party? It was an option they’d stopped doing when I got mine, even though I got from stock in the end, it was on my wish list though.

You sure it's stopped ? I spec it to as it makes a diffrence but easy to miss when looking threw options?

If Audi were to fit it after sales then you’d need a mortgage for the door cards. I managed to source parts at a decent price so went for it. How much was the option when new ? Out of interest.

That's not too bad I guess but TBH I think they should be standard in S cars, However 275 for Vinyl isn't very fair.
Mine came in at about £250 and fitted myself so happy with that.

Yea they stopped it towards the end of the MY18, removed as an available extra :( not sure if it’s back in the MY19 spec but don’t think so.

I specced it on MY19. I'm not in the UK though. Just checked the UK config and it doesn't appear to be an option.

You should have gone with the Matte Aluminium surround one car looks a tad confused at the front chrome and black and then chrome around the windows

Thought about the same but looks okay in the flesh. I'll get a black high gloss splitter and the sunroof and tinted rear windows really helps to even out the black high gloss elements (not that visible here). And I should say this is the winter wheels, it's going to look at lot better on my 19" RS6 reps.

The small chrome/silver elements and black high gloss elements (grill, splitter, rear windows and sunroof) actually bind the car together without getting this "car colour + black optics without any chrome" everyone else is rocking ;)

I've made my mind up... Just got a quotation to get the window frames wrapped in high gloss black. Will get the two small silver lines at the air guide grilles on the front bumper wrapped as well :greedy dollars:

Going to look good with the Method Effects splitter that's on the way!

Where did you source the bits from? And was it an easy swap out. They look much better than the standard plastic rubbish.
I managed to get door cards from and Audi specialist breakers (quite rare to come by but the cards weren't as tidy as hoped and didn't have B+O my cards do and are like new so I swapped the handles The same car had marks on the console so I passed up on that.. The console was from an RS3 with exactly the same colour stitching etc from another member with only 3K miles who upgraded to the design pack.
I think the console is like £115 from Audi but the door cards are expensive
