Lowering or Wheel Spacers or both?

That’s who I got to order my downpipe through milltek. I’ve got a friend fitting it for me but they are going to do the 4 wheel alignment for me after fitment.

Ah nice, good outfit by all accounts. Chap was telling me about their remaps....think I’d go to ecotune if I did go down that route anyway. Will use them to fit spacers and possible springs with the alignment also

AN, the Bimeccs are quality CNC machined and TUV approved.
They do come with new lock nuts and an undoer!

Oh really? I thought I saw 20 normal bolts on the picture.. it’s great if they do come with a new locker.

They’ve seem a great deal at that price... and if they come with lockers, even better!

I see they come with silver bolts... what colour are the standard ones on the car?

Mine came with black bolts but you can get silver as well.

Update!

The company are absolutely fantastic, almost instant email replies I will never consider using anybody else again for spacers and that’s before I’ve even received them.

Turns out the lockers are extra, an extra £15 posted (extremely good value), so mine have been posted today to combine with my previous order of spacers.

@AudiNutta Sounds like they’re the go to place for spacers... they’ll be getting my business as soon as I can clear a few things up

I’m going to see if they can supply black nuts and lockers, and I’m still trying to find out if the stagged alloys on the saloon are set in an equal distance from the arches front and rear? Or if different sized spacers are needed to get that equal look?

Yes they are really good, so helpful.

I kind of wish I’d chosen black bolts, but there we go they are capped anyway and that’s all the standard ones are.

My wheels are staggered and they look equal front to rear, the wheel offset is the same it’s the depth of the wheel into the arch that changes.

Cheers mate... I tended to think they would have been equal on the outside, just deeper on the inside

I’ll get an email sent off later today regarding the wheel nuts and go from there

I can confirm black bolts and lockers are available after contacting them

There is a forum discount. Email them directly at the email address below to get the discounted price, I’m in work now so can’t work it out with my two deliveries complicating things.

I paid £133 delivered for spacers, £15 delivered for lockers and I’ve just had a £15 refund for being on the forum.

What size spacers you gone for mate?

I'm keen to get spacers reading the good reviews on here. @teslaboy the fronts look a touch too spaced in some photos and ok in others. I want it to still look OEM ish. Would I be better with. 10mm all round rather than 12mm?

Yep I'd probably have gone with 8mm on the front but apparently 8mm spacers or less are non hub centric due to the existing hub centre protruding enough thru the spacer to centre the wheel.
However the photos of my motor are slightly not full front on. When looking straight down the fronts are flush. It's just those ****** rim protectors that stand out ! 10mm or 12mm front is fine.

12mm all around, since ordering I’ve been having a little bit of second thoughts for not staggering the front and rear but there we go.
What were you thinking for the stagger?

I might go 10mm all round. I just want it that little more purposeful in its stance.

I’d have probably opted for 8mm fronts and 12mm rears.

I will see how they fit, if they don’t work for me then I will perhaps look to change for 8mm fronts.

@AudiNutta @Doc

You’ve both got me thinking now... 10mm fronts and 12mm rears possibly?! I know 2mm isn’t a lot, but can make all the difference

Would need someone after the same look willing to swap though, so it saves buying 2 sets

Well I’ve got 12’s coming, if you wanted to order 10’s I’d be more than happy to swap with you.

Whereabouts are you?

Looking on there site they don’t seem to sell 10mm ones in the same style?!

I’ll message and find out if they can supply them and let you know mate

I’ve just had a reply asking the same question, they replied almost instantly again and unfortunately they only supply 12mm to fit our cars :-(

They suggested that I fit two of the spacers on the front first and then see how it sits, if I don’t like it I can return the other two unused and just run rears only.

Telling people I’ve got spacers, the natural reaction has been what a t*t because longer bolts will inevitably cause more weakness than there was before. It does make me nervous but these are so widely used, it can’t be an issue surely? I will be checking the toque setting on mine regularly.

That’s sorts that one them... 12mm’s it is haha

I’ve ran spacers in my mk2 and mk3 RS’s and never had a problem with the bolts/nuts

The latest ones I had used extended nuts, so basically a thinner section that reach further down the stud... I was a bit worried about those at first but they were fine! Surely for the 5 bolts to give way there needs to be something drastically go wrong

Hopefully it will look good! Once the cars are lowered the need for spacers increases IMO, from the photo below.

I’ve been told I’m better to go for Eibach’s with a 25mm drop because 30mm is borderline too much on standard shocks, works them too hard. But I thought there were bad reviews on those? Everybody has a different opinion but I won’t be ruining the comfortability.

Just ordered the BIMECC spacers. Gone 10 up front and 15 at the rear....hmmmmm. Let’s see how we get on

Hope I'm not telling you guys to suck eggs but if your going to fit your own spacers make sure you torgue your nuts up to min 110NM max 120 !

Funnily enough I was going to check the torque setting, I couldn’t remember what they were supposed to be. 80NM for the locker bolt?

Audi manual says 120 for wheel nuts.
The tuner who fitted my Bimeccs used 110 as the manufacturers recommendation.

Yep... always helps to give them a check every once in a while too

Be interesting to see how that sits... are you getting the Saloon or Sportback?

Sportback....May looks at springs down the line, but a marginal 20mm drop, not a fan of the slammed look

I’m now contemplating the same 12mm and 15mm setup... I think I’ve changed my mind a good few times already in the thread haha

Looking at teslaboy’s photos the fronts do look more “flush” so an extra 3mm on the rear may help the stance there

I looked at my fronts this morning when I got to work, they are really close to the arch without the spacers which casts a bit of doubt whether I want them at all on the front. I will test tomorrow, put two spacers on one side and lower it to see how it looks.

The spacers arrived this morning, fantastic quality.. they look stunning!!
