My S3

It has been a while - the kia is driving me nuts - 1.2 has no fun factor what so ever! . They had the parts a couple weeks ago but as they get booked up i had to wait which is fair enough.

The stage 2 spring is for the actuator on the turbo . it ups the acuactor crack pressure and more boost at high rpm - its 50% stiffer than the stage 1 spring.

Getting the APR valve springs- as the tune is from APR i'm trying to stick keeping it all from them as they've tried and tested it

Yeah I had to wait to get in too , good that there booked up in a way !
Tell me about it was bring a Hyundai I20 1.0 for a month !
Let us know what she makes on the dyno as I'll be going tte420 but prob gonna go down the supeetech valve spring route ,

Not bad thing at all . AMD have been spot on with me and done things right always!

I will do , i should get a call this afternoon so ill revert back , Supertech was an option but i just followed APR's spec on the TTE -

http://www.goapr.co.uk/products/turbo_tte420_ea113_20t_r.html

on 98 ron the figures APR quote - 400 HP 413 FT-LBS , would be slightly less than i had but i'm happy with that power based on the fact i have the correct stuff on the car now, was never happy running it with stage 2+ software!

I think your make more than 400 and imagine your torque curve will look alot better !
Yeah they have been very good to me aswell never had a problem with anything work they have done ,
Shame they haven't developed there own tte software as they got 364HP 371ft lbs out of mine at 2+

I hope so but my car has never ever in its whole life liked a dyno! haha. Im sure they will develop their own. APR are the only ones to unless you go custom

Be very interesting to see how/what it does with a hybrid,
Seeing as its managing to put 470ft lb through the front wheels of a focus st without excessive wheel spin

Had a brief chat with AMD and as thought the car 4wd still doesn't like the dyno which still could well be the diff - but as stated before its not justifiable changing the diff if its fine on the road just to get a good reading on the dyno - they said they don't know exact figures but is around 400 which is in line with APR figures but i'm sure its probably more if the car would behave itself on the dyno for a change- think they are trying again tomorrow but as long as its there or thereabouts i'm happy!

Grr that's a pain isn't it,
You will have to report back when you pick it up on how she drives power delivery etc

I knew it was coming ! Would be one expensive dyno run if i changed the diff.

I will do. how it drives is more important! i'm sure any figure off the dyno will be less than it actually is!

I'm sure your be putting a lsd in at some point ! Very true it's gonna be an animal , and can always run it at gti compare it to last year

I wouldn't worry too much.

Mine never got on well with a 4WD rolling road, and would run better in 2WD mode, but we all think a lot is down to the way the Haldex shifts torque around.
It was always quicker on the road, but other factors may include traction control, and the data the car feeds to the Haldex,as the car currently seems to manage better, and that may be down to the different ECU and software, plus totally different TC etc.

Glad I'm not the only one but that does make sense !

Very nice mate will finish it off nicely !
One question did you order all the apr bits yourself ? Or did amd get them for you ? As I assume they have to go to awesome gti ???

money saved from the valve springs can go on the wheels .. well buying the valves spring so labour cost saving ! wheels have been bugging me so getting it done at last .

I got AMD to source it all for me . I think it was from Apr as I remember AMD having to wait for parts from Apr America but not 100 percent

Good result that! When we scanned the car last time, I did say that it all pointed at a fuelling issue. Looks like my guess was not far off :)

Can't wait to see the car with the new wheels on - going to look proper!

hahaha don't tempt me ! new wheels are a weight saver and I've lost 2.5 stone since Christmas !! that's got to be at least a second off my 1/4 mile time :sob::sob:

The most logical solution.... a big turbo build... it makes perfect sense!
Haha maybe in a couple years already goes like a b*tch ,
Or until I go in @S3Alex 's at comrades of vag rolling road day at amd lol
Can only imagine how brutal it is !

What's it actually rated too before it chucks a rod through the block ?
Now there's a very good question.

The rods won't bend easily for sure, and the crank seems good, but I don't really know,as there aren't many knocking around with this sort of torque.....let's see.

Alex and I were both saying yesterday how we both hate listening to our cars on the dyno, and how you kinda expect to see engine parts flying around as it winds up to peak power.

I'm always very glad when i don't have to hear or see it on the dyno!
