Well my boyfriend wouldn't know an S3 from the Fiesta Zetec S/BMWx5 I've got so it really won't matter to him lol. But it will matter to me so I definitely will be on the phone to the dealer tomorrow!

Ha, yes it you the buy the car for. That's why I chose a Hatchback because i'm not buying a Sportback with two extra doors for other peoples convenience.

You will be sold after the test drive, I was.

I know the option isn't that much but it would of added that much a new car deal compared to mine

It's a lot when you know they do it on purpose to get people to pay for it! Lol. How much should I be paying a month for an S3 like yours? And should I wait for the facelift to be unveiled and see if they give more discount?

You can buy my car for £28,500 lol
That's way too much for a Sepang......:blow:You can buy my car for £35,000....:haha:.I've just polished the rims on it so that alone is worth a few grand...lol
On a serious note Natalie..Take a trip to your nearest car supermarket and have a good look around and see what type of car takes your fancy.. Once you have decided shop around for the best price..:cheerful:

Just under £400 with basically nothing to put down. The face-lift thing is down to you. Could be £5000 cheaper if you get a really good deal over buying a face-lift on day 1

Well 3 doors isn't really an option for me as I'd break my back for the next 3 years getting kids in and out of the back, otherwise I'd probably have considered the hatchback. I'll have to book a test drive, can I do it through the website?

I'd be prepared to put down about £2000 to keep the monthly payments down, hopefully I can get it under £400, I'm not a very good haggler though lol. It's hard because I want it now but at the same time I want a good discount so I might wait for the facelift to be unveiled next month, or will it have to "officially" come out for the discount?

There is a reason audis are expensive. I could have a Kia with 7 years warranty and every option under the sun but it isn't an Audi
The reason they are expensive is they are paying German wages for assembly & they are some of the best in Europe. Just feel the warm glow of French Valeo parts on your German assembled car. 7 years warranty! Might give them a look....I'm being serious.....and if Audis are that good why don't Audi have the confidence to do the same? I'll tell you why.....they don't have enough confidence in their products!!!!

In that case, what about the RS3? Not sure you would get one for less than £400pm without a big deposit.

Yes you should be able to book test drives online. Or best do it with the dealer you're already talking too to keep everything under one roof.

It was easy for me as they wanted to get rid of the car and I had an S3 8p already so didn't need to sound too keen

I think I'd prefer the S3, the insurance would be massive on an RS3 I'm sure, not like it will be cheap for me on an S3 but you know lol.

I won't be part ex'ing any of my cars either so I can't use that as a deposit, this is sounding more and more expensive each minute haha.

Just been on their website and they only have three items on the A3... 1 parking sensors if fitted 2 air intake module(air filter housing) 3 humidity/rain sensor...So not much French tech there.....:whistle2:

Try the all in one rear wash wipe motor that feeds water though the centre of the motor....leaks.....and blows the central locking up!

I changed it and it definitely said Valeo on it!

The insurance on an S3 is amazing for the performance and price.

Wouldn't do really! You wouldn't want to think you are buying a Citroen in disguise. Take a look where all the blow moulded plastics are made! Give you a clue....spaghetti!

You may get less as standard in the Audi, but pay more upfront and get more back long term:

Plus the badge is wayyy better ;)

+1 for the Saloon, Sportback = van with windows.
Also, try everything that catches your eye. If you only want a badge that's fine (Trust me, the 2 stuck on the Audi cost a lot) :whistle2:
:hopelessness:

Ye can have mine for £48k Nat....................need it for me RS3 saloon fund!! lol

Truth is, the tolerances used on the components in Kia's eastern European factories is so high they're confident in their 7 year warranty. Had a Kia c'eed myself before this A3 I currently have on order and it was mechanically and cosmetically flawless.

Unfortunately some makers have started to rely on their name a little too much (I'm speaking of VW group in general, only Skoda seem to be upping their game)

Hold off cancelling for now and spend the next couple of weekends test driving the alternatives, if you then still have doubts cancel.

It won't affect your credit rating, just your street cried with the dealer, but that is easily overcome by fluttering the eyelids...lol

Feels rather upside-down to me, when it comes to trade resale, too. I had a nightmare trying to get a half decent price for my 3 year old c'eed. Stuck it on Autotrader and it was gone privately for more than I bargained for in 3 days...

Think traders still rely on big names, too. Sad, really.

Haha I'm sure I can get back in the dealers good books :) I fancy the S3 instead now.

Guess they think the 'lesser' brands aren't worth the hassle of trying to shift. That's why Audi and others can chuck a few grand on the price of a car for absolutely no other reason than the badge. If I get another Audi (!!!!) I'll suggest they debadge it and knock 10% of the price :welcoming:
I can pick up some badges on Ebay for a few quid. :welcoming:

They will politely ask me to leave of course :welcoming:

I've been quoted £375 on an S3 Saloon with £4000 of options and a £4000 discount, so that wipes out the options.
This is though with a £4500 deposit. If you go for the SB and don't spec 19's and Mag ride that will bring the price down.

I also priced up BMW 330i, SEAT Cupra290 Sub8 and Focus RS and they all come in at very similar figures once you load them up with your chosen but not OTT options. Different GFV and APR is what swings a lower face value car closer to the Audi monthly rates.
Also test drove 2 Cupra290's and decided it's too 'Hot-Hatch 1 trick pony', for my needs and my garage queen Impreza (had for 12 years) runs rings around it for power, drive and experience. This has also caused me to rule out the Focus RS.

My next Audi needs 'grunt' and a petrol engine (big regret getting the A4 as a diesel), but I'm not looking to out perform my Subaru, but it does need to be comfortable when required. Hence S3 Saloon for me is currently top of the pile.

Thanks for that, so you definitely recommend the Audi then? When would you order to get the best discount?

I'm waiting to see what Geneva brings in early March to see if that causes a run-out model to be rolled out.
I don't think the S model will get much change if you consider what has happened to the A4/A5 range.
The S-Line were given Black Edition Nav, then Nav Plus treatment in their last 12 months run-out but the S4/S5 didn't pick up the same changes i,e different wheels, high gloss grill, bumper vent re-modelling etc...etc.....
