As subject what wheel spacers are available for the A3? I know you can get them for the S3, but are they different between the 2?

Also what wheel studs are you using? As they will need to be longer right?

Cheers in advance Mark.

You've got loads of choice. You deffo want hubcentric spacers otherwise you'll get vibrations through the steering wheel at speed. Most places start at 15 or 10mm for hubcentric. Depending on the type you go for you will either need longer studs or you get the extra studs with the kit. Here are a few links.

http://www.fk-automotive.com/en/ (click on wheel spacers)

http://www.tunershop.co.uk/ (again browse to wheel spacers)

That should get you started.

Cheers for the info Kev.

This may sound daft, but what are hubcentric spacers? As I will probably end up getting the H&R ones.

I take it the H&R (DRA = Wheel Spacer/Adapter) ones are OK?

Also I'll get measuring and see what ones I can get away with.

Mark,
Hubcentric spacers sit centrally on the hub. However, the problem with spacers is that there is no lip for the wheel to sit on so making the wheel align properly on the spacer is rather awkward! with 15mm spacers you wont have this problem as they are thick enough to be able to have a lip.

Cheers for the info. Looks like I will be out measuring tomorrow as I've just returned from collecting my winter wheels /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Spacers make the car look great IMO !! I ran 10mm fronts and 16mm rears on my S3 and it just made the whole car look 'fatter'

Biggest pain was cutting down all the bolts to fit as sourcing decent quality bolts in the right length seemed impossible at the time.

...got mine from Forge - not cheap but good quality.

Thinking about it I still have them in the garage. 2x10mm spacers & 2x16mm spacers incl all bolts (no lockers)

If anyone wants them drop me a pm...

Please bear in mind that Forge want £30+VAT each before making me an offer /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Ta,
Adam

The spacers can make the car better in terms of performance. and yes it can make the car look fatter as monty has said. Bought mine btw on car parts sites online.

Wheel spacers fit between your car's wheel and the hub that the wheel mounts to on the car. Spacers push the wheel away from the hub.
Wheel spacers are designed to space the wheel away from the car on larger tires. The bolts in the wheel spacers match the holes to the tire hub, and come with studs that secure the spacers to the wheels. The bolts through the wheel spacers are also called studs. These studs are what hold the wheels onto the vehicle.
