struggleing to find a s3 :(

ive been searching for a S3 for 2weeks now and its proving to be a bit of a mare! i need it too be trade cause i want to px my current car and also the cars got to be either Red or Black and be under 70k miles. ideally i need to have one by the end of next month as thats when my insurance is due. im checking autotrader and pistonhead everyday. willing to travel upto 100miles for one.

i did how ever buy one 2weeks ago, but the sale fell through and the garage are arsing around so ive left it too find another :(

that the autobay one? i seen that one on the autotrader, just was a bit concerned about the location of the S3 badge on the boot

I know how you feel dude:blownose:it took me the best part of 7 long long mths to find mine looking through clasifieds etc finally finding mine on ebay:applaus:with the 200+ round mile trip being well worth it (but did crap myself taking cash:nunu: )so keep your chin up therz one out there with your name on.

I have a 2000 x reg facelift ming blue (nearly black) totally standard with 35k on it but sadly its not for sale unless i get the right offer ;-)

Gav, i am on the same boat as you are. I have been looking for weeks now on sevral sites still cant fine the right spec. S3's are well expensive if you want a decent one you got to dip deep thats what i have realized from all my research.
 
It took me a few months to find mine! I was on all the sites at least 5 times a day waiting! In the end I found one in Bournemouth and booked a flight from Manchester to Southampton and took the cash down! Bit of a gamble as I only booked a single ticket! Good job it turned out to be a good one!

Took me 3 months, and looking at 16 different S3s. In the end, I sold my MX5 first, and went to see a few on my motorbike instead. Any reason why you have to trade in yours, as you are missing out on probably 60% of the market.

Also, upped my budget from £7.5k to £9k to get a better motor.

Ironically, I eventually found mine just 10 miles away!! Just need a new passenger seat now... but that was reflected in the price I paid!!

Keep hunting. You WILL find one soon, and it's definitely worth waiting for.

found mine first time, first car and only 50 miles away:icon_thumright:....... few small bits needed renewing but firmly believe that i have a decent car for the price i paid:beerchug:

I remember yours being up for sale as that was on my shortlist! The location wasnt as straight forward as Bournemouth for me! I also upped my budget form 8k to 9k and got a far better car for the money! I viewed 3 in total including mine.. 2 had been clocked! I'd try and sell yours private and then search for one.. It's worth the travelling sometimes! I paid 9k for mine, 2001 Y, Silver/Black leather, Bose, Cruise, Chrome Mirrors, 48k, 265 remap, S3 plate, FSH inc recent haldex and cambelt and it's immaculate.. Anyone think I paid over the odds?

Sounds pretty good value, especially with the cambelt/haldex done, and a remap. I paid a little over £8k for mine with 58k on the clock FSH, 12months MOT & 6months tax, and new boots on the front. Just looking for a replacement passenger seat.

Anyone after a heated black leather drivers seat or replacement rear leather seats, as I'll probably end up having to buy the full interior, and would be trying to sell off the other parts separately...

Keep an eye on Ebay. There is one there at the moment, but it's up to £120!!! Don't think they are much more than that new...

hi m8

you just gotta sit tight the right one at the right price will coma along, i hunted high and low for 3 months before i found mine, i then waited a further 3 weeks before i could pick it up, its worth it in the end knowing you have got what you wanted, i did a 12 hour round trip to wales to get it as wel.
