I wasnt going to make a thread because I assumed this would all go fairly smoothly, because I am an idiot, after nearly freezing to death and lots of cursing and scraping of knuckles I have a warning for you.
Dont buy the radiators they have in stock for the A3 from GSF, they are the wrong size and about half an inch too short width wise, I phoned them to check and they quoted me the same model number I have I will be complaining tommorow and hoping for my money back (even though I fitted the new one macguyver stylee). Anyway if anyone now needs any advice or help i'd be glad to offer it! Plenty of lessons learnt including:
Why new screws are needed when coolant leaks over them for a period of months
Wheel arch liners, do they or dont they?
Impact bars hurt
The cooling hose clips supplied are painful
