So far the security codes for MagRide (module 14-Susp. Elect.) for VCDS has proved to be elusive. At least for now till DJAlix aka Alex manage to get his hands on a MagRide equipped car to sniff out the codes with VCP.
Thanks goes to Alex for all your help to this community.

Anyway, I am wondering if anyone has tried fiddling around with the options under the Basic Settings?
Not sure if it's safe. Am tempted to try the Damping calibration as I have installed lowering springs.

    MagRide Basic Settings.jpg

Here are the UDS Adaptation Channels. Unfortunately to change the Body height due to lowering springs, security code is required. Hopefully we will have some progress soon.

Just to expand a little on the above, still a work in progress but progress is being made :)

    The good news...

A VERY VERY VERY kind and very COOL forum member reached out and has allowed me access to a VERY NICE car with mag ride. We both have busy schedules and live a fair distance from each other but so far one 3 hour "code" session has been completed. Hopefully all thats needed in order to uncover all the possible 5 digit codes is one more session.

The bad news... 6 digit codes are in use within our control modules, not many but they are there. At this moment in time it's only going to be feasible to "find" the 5 digit codes related to Mag Ride due to the time involved in extracting them without access to more vehicles.

    More to follow...

How are you testing so many codes without running into the issue where it blocks access for 10 minutes or whatever?!

That reversing camera module I had that wouldn't code just kept rejecting the 22351 code and locking me out from trying others. Now I wonder if it was new enough to be using a 6 digit code?

Vag Can Professional has a Log In Code finder function / module. This feature together with an overriding Engineering mode and configurable Reconnect Delay timer allow for continuous log in attempts.

I don't think the 6C module is one of the 6 digit ones to be honest as it's been around for a while / is used in other "older" platforms. Where did you get the 22351 access code from?

Yeah but it's all I could find for anything related to the 6C module.

There are lots of hits on Google for reversing camera and that security code. Figured it was worth a shot!

Do you know of one that would go with the A3's module?

The two modules are coded / adapted very differently.

All the 8v type modules I have been involved with so far have never requested a security access code whilst working on them, thats not to say that a specific coding and or adaptation might need one though. Am currently not aware of any codes which have been published.

A favour if possible guys... Could someone with a 2015 S3 please map the Mag Ride adaptations and send them to me via alex@VagCarCoding.com

    • From the VCDS Main Screen select Applications.
    • Once in Applications select Controller Channel Map, a box called “Maps” will open / pop up.
    • Enter / change the following within the Maps Box:
    1. Controller Address = 14 (Susp. Elect.)
    2. Login or Security Access Code = Leave Empty
    3. Under Function select “Adaptations”
    4. Under Output select “CSV File”
    • Once all the above has been entered select “Go”
VCDS is now going to pull down all possible / mapped (supported by RossTech) Adaptation channels for the module you selected and store them in a .CSV file within the following location:
    • C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Logs
    Many thanks!

Got your mail Rob2k68, many thanks!

Well... after approx four hours of total travel time and approx 6 hours of security access code scanning (99999 number combinations) I now have all the codes for 14 - Susp. Elect. within the 5 digit range. Scanning of the 6 digit range is prohibitive at the moment due to the time it would take to complete but if the 5 digit codes I have found do not produce the desired results then I will revisit this project and try to work something out.

A HUGE thank you goes out to jungle650 for not only welcoming me in to his garage and allowing me access to his very well spec'd S3... but for all the great conversation as well. He is truly a top bloke! :)

So what did I find? As with the 03 - ABS there is a General "Control Module" Security Access Code and then Adaptation Channel Code. Code... Singular?! Yes, but I am not surprised by this given the number of available Adaptation Channels and the number of useful channels (bold):
    1. (4)-Activating and deactivating all development messages-DEV_Unit_0103
    2. (6)-Activating and deactivating all development messages-DEV_Unit_0104
    3. (1)-Activating and deactivating all development messages-S_100
    4. (2)-Activating and deactivating all development messages-S_101
    5. (3)-Activating and deactivating all development messages-S_102
    6. (7)-Activating and deactivating all development messages-Set_internal_fault_code
    7. (5)-Activating and deactivating all development messages-XCP
    8. (1)-Adapting high values-Body height left front wheel house edge
    9. (2)-Adapting high values-Body height right front wheel house edge
    10. (3)-Adapting high values-Body height left rear wheel house edge
    11. (4)-Adapting high values-Body height right rear wheel house edge
    12. Roller test bench mode; functional
    13. Enable Constant current on all dampers
    14. Enable Damper test mode
*2013/14/15 Vehicles all contain the same hardware and software.
    • General Module Security Code = 20103
    • Adaptation Channel Security Code = 24085
I had no time to complete any testing so any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Will post this to the main VCDS thread also.

    Have fun!

    Thx @DJAlix ,

People should all know the time and energy that you continue to put in not only on this forum but also behind the scenes, on all things VCDS and more.

Hopefully this will help people, especially those that have changed springs etc.

    We all thank you.

Hi Alex, I've given this a quick shot at lunch time - with both security codes accepted in the module I've tried to change the channel and get this workshop code error :-
    image.jpeg
If I then put the security code in then I get an importer code error :-
    image.jpeg

Could very well be me doing something wrong ! - any ideas at all ? Cheers.

WSC, Impoter and Equipment Numbers / Codes identify the workshop and person who is performing any changes and are recorded in to the module anyone working on the car can see who last programmed the module. VCDS operates in stealth mode by default, not allowing a control module to record or over write the existing information. Stealth Mode is enabled by inserting 0's within the following Program Options > User Interface and Identification boxes:
    • Code(WSC)
    • VZ/Importer
    • Equipment number
For 90% of VCDS related works 0's are fine but some control modules do not allow themselves to be Coded with the default 00000 Equipment number in place. For these using the following normal works without issue:
    • Code(WSC) = 12345
    • VZ/Importer = 123
    • Equipment number = 12345
But you could always try using the original information from an auto scan also, example (in bold):

    Address 03: ABS Brakes (J104) Labels: 5Q0-907-379-IPB-V1.clb
    Part No SW: 5Q0 907 379 AA HW: 5Q0 907 379 G
    Component: ESC H31 0457
    Revision: 00000000 Serial number: 63233000000003
    Coding: 30F193A254212A700179070641C6690CC92A5480E08296F6024100080608
    Shop #: WSC 06314 790 00021
    ASAM Dataset: EV_Brake1UDSContiMK100IPB 033001
    ROD: EV_Brake1UDSContiMK100IPB_AU37.rod
    VCID: 7BF5CB9DF23A5EE4E1-802E

You should be able to change these values via a VCDS prompt, which is temporary, but if you make changes to the codes via the options screen you can reset VCDS back to default by completing the following:
    • From the VCDS main screen right click on the VCDS icon to the top left
    • From the dropdown menu select "delete config file and close"

I just attempted to change the ride height adaptations but it was not successful unfortunately.
I started with "24085" security code and it was accepted. However, it prompted an error "Security Code required" when attempting to commit the adaptation change.
Next I tried "20103" security code and similarly it was accepted. This time the error is "Conditions not correct or request sequence error" when changing the adaptation.

I'm wondering if there's a much smaller range of numbers that it will accept for example having 18s or 19s from the factory ?

I'm going to try small increments next time to see if it accepts those.

So this would suggest that 20103 is the security code thats needed.

Request Sequence Error = A defined procedures' steps were not followed. Will have a dig around and see if I can find anything.

Conditions not Correct = Things the car was expecting to see before the needed change can be made were not correct, examples: Engine was not at idle or at idle, Transmission in Park or Neutral, All doors shut, All doors locked, No DTCs, All windows closed etc

Watching this as I plan to H&R my RS3 with mag ride.

I found on other threads relating to using these channels to adjust A6/S6 suspension there is a max of 17mm adjustment. Here for example.

I suspect there will be a value smaller than the 20-30mm we need to enter here too. Let us know what you find Rob.

Will be conducting further testing once my new car arrives, current does not have mag ride, but it would seem that only ODIS (dealer tool) can be used in order to make mag ride changes at this time. Not sure when VCDS will introduce support but the guys at VCP are looking in to it.
