Hi guys. I've recently noticed that my thermostat is sticking, so it needs replacing. Later this year, I will be fitting a K04-064 + supporting mods to my car.
Should I refit a normal stat (opening temp 87C) or look for a colder one?

There may not really be much point unless you are planning to take the car on a track... does your car see constant abuse on a day to day basis?

Do you run one of these Paul?

What temp does your engine run at with it installed? (guage temp and climate 49)

I've been thinking of doing similar, but unsure which temp to go for.

Aye Prawn I do, when I was looking for a cooler stat I didnt know anywhere else that could provide me with one.
The gauge sits probably 1mm from dead on 90 degrees on the dash.

Climate 49? Is that the trick using the climate control ? If so I actually havent tried that but I will be taking the car out tomorrow night so I can have a look for you? I will have to learn how to do the "trick"

Also worth saying that the alloy rad I bought off ebay sprung a leak and is waiting for a friend of a friend to weld up. Im back on the standard rad for the moment
