I recently compiled a list of service parts for my Audi A3 2007 TDI. All the parts were leading brands but the final price was eye watering. I’ll list them here

- MOBIL ESP 5W-30
- MANN CHARCOAL POLLEN FILTER
- MANN OIL FILTER
- MANN AIR FILTER
- MANN FUEL INJECTOR
- NGK GLOW PLUGS
- FEBI BILSTEIN SUMP PLUG

The final price was around £180

AUTODOC Gave me a smart price recommendation Swap for RIDEX & all the parts came To £70. The Oil wasn’t RIDEX but FANFARO. Should i go with the RIDEX parts & FANFARO OIL? Or would you stick the Commercially Known brands?

Ridex parts are more than likely made in China or Eastern Europe. I did a bit of digging and I think Ridex branded parts are owned by Autodoc, It's the own brand which is why Autodoc are pushing them.
Personally I would stick with all the branded parts, you should see what the dealers would charge you for genuine Audi parts.
Swap the charcoal pollen filter for a normal one.

Fanfaro oil is ****. I know someone who used it to save money, less than 3k miles later it cost him a rebuild. The oil broke down and separated.

Makes sense that AUTODOC Manufacture RIDEX. All the RIDEX Parts are rated with 5 Stars :end of discction:Why don’t you recommend Charcoal Filter? Thanks

Ouch. I personally wouldn’t of gone with the FANFARO oil lol it’s made in Lithuania I believe. I’ll stick to the MOBIL ESP as i heard it’s Great for diesel engines. Thanks

Charcoal filters can sometimes be a lot more expensive than a stock paper one. Personally I don't think it's worth the difference. If it's only 1 or 2 pounds than go with the charcoal one. Just thinking about saving some pennies. As stated above if you went with cheaper parts the one thing I would personally stick with for quality is the oil. Poor quality there will have a very big impact on the engine.

The difference in price is minor. I think it’s like £2 difference for charcoal. I just contacted an Independent VW Garage called Awesome GTI. They are based here in manchester! Actually a really great garage! Getting my car serviced from them (Full Service) They use MANN Filters & QUANTUM Oil. I’ll attach some pictures.

Definitely choose the better cabin filter as car drivers are exposed to the most pollution .

For the very , very best choose MAHLE and for the air your engine breathes , Hengst .

I know Awesome GTI I had a TVS map put on my DSG gearbox there. They do good work and the owner Mark is a very friendly guy. Took a lot of interest in the car and showed me around the place.

:tearsofjoy: Glad my local suggested quantum oil! I could of upgraded to millers but quantum will do just fine!

Sounds about right mate. Hands down one of the best places in Manchester. I used to go to DK performance in Sheffield when i lived there. They were great but Awesome have it all ! Excellent garage, staff & owner. Wouldn’t go anywhere else from now on. I paid £219 other day for full service. They did an excellent job & didn’t miss a beat. Getting my Stance + coilovers fitted there next month

Terrible advice, the interior of your car can contain the highest level of pollution, it can accumulate inside the cabin. The purpose of the charcoal is to absorb NOX, Benzene, Sulfur and Particulates and other pollutants
