UPDATE... Right got the liquid S3 today!
thanks Jim, and also popped in for a chat with Nev.
All i can say is wow, I'm defiantly not disappointed, as for the vent it looks a lot better when it's in your hands, colour match is good too, just a touch darker but hardly noticeable. The one that Nev and Jim took photos of is from a Leon & pre facelift S3, Nev has mine at the moment for fabricating, So I'll take photos when it's finished.
As for fitting i don't think that the cup holder is going to be much of a option, you really do have to cut a fair chunk out of the dash and the piano black trim and you would also have to mount it in front of the PB trim too, unlike the Leon you can mount it behind and use the trim as a surround to the screen. So if you were to do it, you would need a form of pod to mount it in or on over the cup holder hole as the screen's not wide enough, you would also have to make the cup holder hole bigger to, so basically if you were to try it and **** it up, you would be left with a mangled PB trim and also no possibility of putting back the cup holder either. So i think that the vents are going to be the best option, for me anyway, you will keep your dial in the vent too, when to take the vent out you have to cut the wires for the light in the dial then add some extra wire as there's no slack but apart from that this will probably be quite a easy install, one you have the fuse panel off you need cut a hole about a inch 1/2 in diameter in the side of the vent tunnel for the head of the cable to go through but apart from that, by having a quick look today should be easy enough.
The only thing i was slightly disappointed about was you had to turn the screen on/off manually so when you turn the ignition off it stays on, but you cant have everything and it defiantly won't put me off.
If anyone in the Ipswich area wants to see it your more than welcome just give me a message!!
Pictures and a how to should be about next week.
Also I'm going to post a new thread about some of my readings feel fee to have your say!!!
