Hi guys

Last summer a taxi drove into my right handed side. The damaged was well more then noticeable and this I wanted to fix.

I went to a workshop to get this fixed. But after the repairs, my bonet would not get aligned with the bumper. It has big gaps many places. You can see it on the pictures.
My question is tho, I wonder if I should take it to an Audi certified workshop so they could look at it. Or is this just waste of money and time?

If its hard to see the gap where the light is on, I can take more pictures later. But I just want to know if its worth going to Audi to fix this. :)

I presume you didn't take it to an Audi workshop in the first place because of the cost. If you weren't happy with the job from the first place you should have said and get them to do it correctly.
If they have used pattern parts for the wing and bonnet these will be a lot cheaper than genuine parts but the fit is not always as good.

Karl.

The parts are not original. The mechanic straighten out the bonnet.
I asked if he couldn't do better then that and he said no.. If I had left the car there it would be to expensive in the end. Costed me almost 3500£ to fix it.

probably shouldn't of accepted the car back at the time, several months on won't help gutting it sorted now i would of thought

edit; wow 8L audis must be worth a lot where you are from to spend £3500 fixing it

to be honest I can't see anything wrong with it - looks fine to me; maybe a bit tighter on your passenger side (left hand drive car). It would have helped if you'd taken a picture in day light without the lens glare from your headlights though

Here is a few more pictures. On the left, you can see that the bonnet is properly aligned, but on the left there´s a big gap.

maybe the bonnet hinges are a little bent, not too hard to replace

which left is left? your passenger side or drivers side?

There looks to be more of a gap at your drivers side headlight. I think the gap at the drivers headlight is probably about right (maybe a big having looked at it again) - the panel gap at the passenger side healight looks too tight

if you compare it with pictures in the picture thread for example;

The gap is biggest on the drivers side than the passenger side.

The mechanic has changed the hinges to the bonnet as they were bent. I noticed the lock were also bent, but I managed to straighten that out. But the cover over the lock were replaced with an unoriginal part. Heres a pic of what I mean. Sorry if I´m explained poorly.
