Thermostat or cat? 3 attached images showing codes. The only lights in the car are the abs and traction control. They are in because the mechanic changing clutch ripped off an abs sensor by accident catching it on his boiler suit. The CEL has been on for a few months prior to the clutch getting changed. The only code at the time was the cat so that's what triggered CEL. Since then I've got P1296 which after searching online I saw people mention the thermostat. I changed the coolant temp sensor a few weeks ago, no problems. Any thoughts?

Forgot to add that after clearing the codes the cat code comes back on anywhere after about 30miles of driving. Last time after clearing it didn't come on for about 200 miles

1st one is a faulty MAF

2nd is either because you are decatted or have a faulty cat

3rd is down to a faulty thermostat

Thanks for the reply.
Could maf just be the sensor?
Not decatted but could it be triggered by the thermostat or could it just be the o2 sensor?
Will order new thermostat tonight.

MAF is the sensor...

Not decatted but could it be triggered by the thermostat or could it just be the o2 sensor?

If not decatted then it could be the cat or could be the sensor but would expect other fault codes if it was the sensor

Faulty stat..

Its plausible that faulty stat etc will have caused the ECU to be in cold start for extended periods and the resultant over rich fuelling could have ruined the cat
