Hi,

I recently purchased an audi a6 c6 Le Mans 2.0 tdi. The car was running beautifully but because there was no service history I had the cam belt and water pump replaced. The car has 128k so I thought it maybe due a cam belt and water pump change. Since the change, the car sounds a bit heavy. A bit loud, not like a tractor but still heavy. It was far smoother before the change. I have only been using premium diesel but I do feel that something is not right.

Can you advise me on what I should do or am i just being too picky. I look forward to your feedback

Small changes in cam timing can have big changes in the operation of diesels. It is pretty critical. You can check the timing with VCDS to see if it is correct.

Hi desertstorm,

What is VCDS? How much should it cost? And would you advise me to get this check done from a audi garage or my local garage?
