Door Handle

All I have a lose external door handle cover, any ideas how to fix it?

pull the handle fullt out and push a screwdriver or similar in from the front of the car, should push something back into place and stop the rattle... hopefully

Here's what the manual says :

To remove, pull handle -1- up and pull lock -3- out longitudinally using a small screwdriver.
- Disengage upper side of trim panel -2- and pull downward and out of door handle.
- Installation is revese of removal.

I wish I found this out a lot sooner - mine fell off and now it's badley chipped! Anyone know where I can get a replacement? Do they have to be painted?
