posted on here a while ago asking about s3. I've just bought one. 2010 black edition. it's on 63k so want to get the cam belt done and Haldex. So I know it's all sorted. Is there any indie specialists in Leeds / Wakefield area? Will also get an oil change too so I know it's done

can't help on yorkshire places. but get water pump done at same time as belt - any decent garage would do anyway!

yep planning water pump too. German autocare in wakefield have quoted £480 for cambelt and water pump and tensioner. audi fixed priced is 599 decision.....

If you find a specialist using genuine Audi parts within a 15 mile radius then Audi will price match if you can provide them with the quote and confirmation that they're using genuine parts. I had all the luxury's that you get with Audi at a specialist price.

Did the car come with a service book? As what you are wanting to do should already have been done at around the 40k mark. No reason why you cant get it done again mind you, just wondering if it has been done. Also, regardless of price, it be taking it to who I trust more, and that isnt Audi.

That's whybim asking for garages in Wakefield area :). Haldex has been done but I want it doing again for my peace of mind. Cam belt is now due

I'd get the camshaft sensor done too for the price of the part, although failure is meant to be rare. I had my cambelt and water pump done at an Audi dealer. Few months later the camshaft sensor has gone and as most of the cost is labour (I believe its situated close to the cambelt) I'm not a happy bunny. With hindsight the part could have been fitted at the cambelt change with no additional labour cost

German autocare in pudsey, IVC or is it IWC in Leeds too. They did my mates DSG box rebuild on a vw phaeton when VW flat refused to!

In all truth these cars aren't that fancy. I'd go to your regular mechanic who you trust and have a good relationship with. Long as he has access or vcds you're good

German autocare quoted me in Wakefield. Was more expensive than statller on the service and cambelt change.

My regular garage for servicing was tdi North. But they specialise in Honda. I've come from a ep3 civic type r. So need to change to an Audi specialist

Glad you changed from jap scrap, I did too.. German cars are miles better

Try IVC

Where are you based? You're welcome to use my mechanic if you like

Loved my type r. Had it over 5 years though and was ready for a change. S3 does feel more solid though and quicker. Im based near wakefield

Type r s are ace I've just bought an s3 too the type r is fun and I'd have another but the s3 is in a different league in comfort and toys :)

The ep3 had no toys. Just a high revving engine :) as I got older I wanted a comfier car but also a quick one. S3 ;)

I may look at the fk2 type r as I do like the look of them. But it won't be until they are affordable
