Got any more info on this??

Parts that are getting changed, how much it costs etc?

im running a turbo technics hybrid and am getting MIDLAND TURBO to fit a billet wheel and a pd 150 hot side wheel

Why did the turbo need servicing ? . Are you expecting any more power with the new turbo? . I would of thought a hybrid standard turbo wouldn't make much more than you are already making.
Do you have an EGT gauge ?. or have you logged the EGT temperatures.

Karl.

why not a standard gt 2260vk? if the purpose is deliver horse power?

not after big power standard injectors can only take 235 ish bhp . so billet wheel will give me faster spool times and the larger hot side wheel may give me uptp 20 bhp extra . but wanted it checking as was blowing soot out by wastegate .

not sure what to go for at mo as injector nozzles aint in stock till end of june any way.

already on 375ftlbs so happy with that

The pd150 hybrids will only flow so much as the hotside lets them and they do about 180 bhp with a clipped hotside. Billet wheels can spool worse than stock, matched compressor wheels. Just because they claim ips better isn't necessarily true !

As mentioned above a gtb series turbo will flow much, much better than any hybrid however a 2260vk is too big and i would go for a gtb2056vl- spools better than the vc turbo off the ARL 150 pd tdi and supports up to 250 bhp with reasonable egt.

I have a pd170 bmn, anyone knows max power I can get with stock engine?

At an educated guess around 210BHP
I guess I'm near then

but my question was, only getting a bigger turbo, where it stands in terms of power?

Any advice? Or I cant get that much as pd130/140/150/160

Sorry, having re-read your post I now understand what you meant.

Someone I know through work has a mk5 Golf BKD engine at a *claimed* 300BHP with a Darkside turbo kit and that's running stock internals so I guess somewhere around that figure.

Give Darkside a call, they seem to know their stuff but I have no personal experience of their work :)

darkside also want you to buy all there stuff and didn't want to map mine because I hadn't got one of there turbos on . so no I wont be going there and the person I spoke to wasn't very helpful .

My only fear is the injectores, wich can't be replaced I guess

because I've seen Leon, BKD with 2260vk doing almost 400hp, and running DSG here in Portugal

We have best specialists in Portugal around EU...MbPower for example

2 2 Hybrid Turbos back looks good just got to get it fitted now.

1 3

Turbos been fitted and must say very impressed with it , got a few other things to do then remap and see what shes pushing .

May stick on dyno soon just to see what im getting any way

Great news, have you had to change injectors or fuel pump?

no need to do fuel pump .

thinking about injectors

I was told injectors are only good for 235 ?

I ran 250bhp on stock injectors they were maxed out at that,

There seems to be lots of expertise in tuning the TFSi engines on here but not so much about the TDi.

If we could collate some facts it would be useful. This is a case in point. I'd say the injectors are no good after 230/240 BHP but someone else is saying 270.

I don't mind doing some of the donkey work...

Upgrade injectors if your looking for anymore than 240bhp imo

As above around 235-240bhp is as much as you will get out of the standard injectors. The injection duration is just too long, so some people manage to get more power by advancing the start off injection, however this can put a lot more strain on the engine by increasing peak cylinder pressures so your head gasket may not like it.
Going that last extra bit can gain you a few bhp but usually results in higher EGT's and smoke.
There is also the dyno lottery and other factors to take into account as to why some cars make more power than others with apparently the same hardware.
Larger injectors with corresponding shorter injection durations is the way to go if you want more than 240bhp.

My injectors were on there way out before i sold it, did tell the buyer to buy uprated injectors which he did then he tore the gearbox to bits lol too much torque, that was the only issue FWD tdi running that power = major wheel spinning

Let me ask to a friend. He had uprated injectores, but took them out after breaking engine....He should be back to stock injectores, and he should know is max power.

Ok got double feedback... friend is running 250hp smokeless. And his friend is running much more with same injectors....
So I would say invest somewhere else...Ic prolly

To be honest my car is DSG and therefore front wheel drive. From everything I've read here I think it would be best practice to go to a stage 1 remap and that's it.

Idk. But maybe... he had 400hp with the others
400bhp from BKD TDI thats just lies, internals would melt also the turbo must have been massive so much lag for a TDI the best turbo kits for these cars to achieve 300+ is darkside developments they may be pricey but theres tuning parts are the best no doubt

Well...I'm sure he only had stock engine... Rest was proprely reinforced, with a garret 2260vk doing 2.7bar and a ALOOOOOTT of smoke he measured on dynos 383+ I guess.

Search for seat ibiza 6l XX from am motorsport with pd130 (around 600hp with Nos) best diesel in Europe, from Portugal

Seat ibiza wouldnt have been the BKD engine, stock engine from PD130bhp - tuned to 400bhp would have fried the internals straight away your asking the rods and pistons to literally fail no way that engine would be standard thats madness for a stock engine to handle that power

I can assure u BKD did that power, but I can also tell you it took 1week to break it 2 :p

1 week sounds about right lol the BKD engines have the worst turbos literally melt like ice cream and the head is just prome to crack very lucky if yours doesnt, mine was revision C so i bought a spare head and gave it to buyer of my car said if it leaks get it fitted lol,
