Axle stands - where to put them?.

As the title says, where is the best place to locate axle stands so as not to ****** the car and also squash the missus when she's under there cleaning! Searched site already but pics not showing.

Any help appreciated, pics would be a real bonus.

I stick them on the circular lower arm rear mount or on the front of the sills if dropping the front subframe, use a rubber on top of the stand to help prevent damage

Exactly the same as mechanic69 with me. If lifting the rear, use the sills as well. I prefer to use ramps as it lifts the car even more but not possible if a wheel has to come off.
