Hello everyone. Brand new to this site and I am enjoying it very much. I wonder if anyone can offer some advice on the problem I have with my A3 s-line. It is a 2.0 litre petrol turbo (special edition) model from 2006. I have owned it for eighteen trouble free months. I promised myself I would take care of it no matter what the cost, but really didn't think it would cost so much when the time for a repair came round. Anyway, the problem I have is this. The ESP warning light came on and worrying it may be serious I got the car down to my local Audi stealer and after being charged nearly sixty quid for a diagnostic check, I was told there was a fault with the ABS control unit and it would cost over eleven hundred quid to have it sorted! Now I appreciate Audi's are well engineered and a pleasure to own normally, but this seems like a bonkers amount of cash to fork out. I need to know if this is a vital repair to carry out now, or can it wait for a while till I get the cash together for the work to be done? Or can I find an independant specialist to do the work cheaper. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
