Hmmm....Rust...

Luckily not my motor.

Brother has a 05 8P Sportback and has just found rust on 3 doors - sounds like in a similar place to as noted here:

Told him to call Audi Customer Services tomorrow as he is 30 miles form the nearest dealer. Soudns quite bad - not just surface, paint actually coming off....

Are there any known problems with the A3 and rust? The screw holes seem to have been the cause. Wondering what his chances are of actulaly getting a successful claim..... (It does have FASH).

Ok....for info purposes....

Inspected by Audi dealer. All panels got between 13.7 and 14.0 on the meter.......Every panel..and I mean every panel. They tested doors, roof, bonnet, under.....and took pictures of every panel with meter attached..... All the same.

And the dealer found rust on the fourth door as well - so submitted claim on 4 doors of 4. Dealer said...."never seen that before".....
