Hi guys, was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this for me.
Recently had the clutch changed, bog standard S3 clutch replacement -fly wheel was fine and didn't need a new one. The old was pretty shot, and the guy who did the work for me couldn't believe it had only just started slipping under hard acceleration in 3rd/4th/5th (around 3.5K to 4.2 K revs). + He also did the gear box oil.
The new clutch seems to be helping the car rev more freely to the top end, and my fuel consumption has gone from 33.7mpg - 34.5 and still rising! (I do drive like a granny to and from work!)
Obviously I'm more than happy, but cannot understand why there would be such a difference. Could the old one have been slipping just very slightly all the time, subsequently causing a loss in performance???
