Hi guys havent been on here for a while, been busy with work and the credit crunch is affecting me.hahaha......anyway got a 2002 audi a4 T-sport.when i am slowing down or idle,The car is smoking and its getting really bad.The light is on,on my dashboard.Does that mean that my turbo is gone or it could be something else. And if thats the problem, how much would it cost me to get an aftermarket turbocharger.Pls help thank you.:blackrs4:

Not long after i got my a4 I had similar probs Turned out the breathers had all gunked up car eventualy went into limp mode ,had to get all breathers removed and cleaned out and engine flushed .Being niave (sp) at the time i took it to audi to get it fixed .kerching ::scared2:
Might not be the same thing but maybe worth checking hope this helps

smoking exhaust on the over-run ie slowing down in gear used to be an indicator that the valve stem oil seals had gone, as the vacuum is high and oil gets sucked into the cylinders.

Smoking under acceleration is usually worn rings or too much oil in the crankcase.

Is it using oil?
