I've got a smelly cabin !! Nothing horrendous but just feel as though I get more pongy engine smells that I should inside the cabin.
Changed the pollen filter when I got the car and just had a good look around the bulk head in case any rubber bungs were missing, but all looks good.
Anybody experienced this ?
It's a 2005 1.8T Quattro.

Well apparently it sounds like it could be the crankcase breather pipe. Sounds like they crumble after time, mine does look a little broken around the bottom. Fingers crossed it's just this.

For completeness - it was indeed a broken crankcase breather pipe. Hard and brittle it had broken at the base and as soon as I touched it , it broke and snapped off at either end.
Changed to a new one and the hot engine smell has gone.
Sounds like this is quite common
