FACELIFT MODEL GENUINE DATES SEE HERE

And according to the Audi info forwarded to me by my dealer:

"Improvements to the quattro all-wheel-drive system; more responsive and better handling"

Ah well car has been delayed until September now and I have to go back in to the dealers to review my order since all of the specs have changed - I wonder what the lead time is on the TDI 170 TT - it might be delivered sooner then my new A3 would be!

It seems that Fiday of Week 22 (30th May) is when production of the Facelift starts. Mine is to be built on Monday the 26th - Very frustrating!

I have spoken to the dealer and they have offered me my deposit back but I would have to re-order the car. As I ordered it through broker at an 11% discount, I would have to try and match that. At the moment, the best that I can find is 5%. I can buy an awful lot of petrol, car tax and even withstand some depreciation with the difference.

Therefore, I am going to go through with the order and have the pre-facelift car. It should be delivered in mid June but I will probably be out of the country then - so a Tuesday July 1st pick-up date looks like a possibility.

Suddenly very excited. :jump:

Seriously though, anyone want an Alfa 147GTA??? :tumble:

Splathead - Ouch and I thought mine was close to the changeover date mines being built week 18(this week ))

To be honest apart from the DRL's and rear lights I'm not that bothered, its a company car so residual value doesn't matter!

I considered one but went for the GTV V6 instead when i was going through cars every 6-9 months and it was awesome. If I hadn't just gone back into the company car scheme I'd have seriously considered it, it's on my 'cars i would realistically like to have for a bit one day' list (not on the 'cars i would love to own but never will afford' list)!!

Bit off topic sorry, but how have you found it?

Brilliant!
Totally reliable over 42k miles with a great soundtrack and plenty of smiles. - 27.1mpg average as well. The only downsides are depreciation and shocking dealer support.

If my S3 is anywhere near as good, I will be over the moon.

I got to know a really good local independant specialist although it never really went wrong, or rusted or any of the other b0ll0cks associated with Alfa! Depreciation meant I picked up a 2001 plate V6 GTV for £5K as they had bottomed out, sold it for nearly £6K, not good if you have bought new or nearly new i suppose!! The most beautiful engine note

Audi will be better for residual that's for sure

Something is confusing me about the A3 facelift... Is the 3 door getting new rear lights or not?? On www.audi.com it shows the new A3 with the new front end but the rear lights are the same as the current model...So am i right in saying all the photos i've seen with the new A3 cabriolet rear lights are just artists impressions and the rear end will remain unchanged?? Very odd.

Looking at both Audi UK and Audi Deutschland website I would say no. Both sites show a picture of a new 3-door A3 with the new headlights and the same as existing rearlights in the same photo.

There are also photos, again on both sides showing the A3 Cabriolet with it's new rear lights.

Anyone know what the on the road price is for the new facelift 3DR S3 ?

some saying there has not been a increase others say £27220

According to the Product Update document the S3 has increased in price from a RRP of £26,160 by £220 to a new RRP of £26,380.

Both the A3 and S3 Sportbacks carry a £500 premium over the 3-door.

The A3 Cabriolet Price List on the Audi UK website shows the OTR price is £800 more than the RRP.

Both the A3 and A3 SB has a new rear light cluster design but only the SB will feature the fibre optic lights

Like i said above.... Thats not the case if you look at the audi website. The 3 door A3 is shown with the current style rear lights. Only the A3 cab has the A5 look-a-like slot shape ones.

To be honest this thread has AMAZED me at how ***** Audi are at keeping customers informed and just generally being clear about what you're spending your money on!! How a car company can think it's ok to ask you to hand over a cheque for £30K and not even be clear if the car you're buying is facelift or not is a disgrace. There should be no confusion whatsoever. If i had one on order and the dealer was trying to palm me off with a pre-facelift car the week before the facelift was released for the SAME price i'd tell him where to stick it. Unbelievable!

Thats because it has current shape light but different light edge? It even says it on the official press release. eg- the light cluster wont stretch onto the boot lid.

"At the tail end, the modified bumper and the lights help this car make a grand exit; the A3 Sportback now has innovative fiber optic rods arranged in a flat, continuous strip that creates an impressive optical effect in the dark. The three-door A3 has a modified tailgate with a new light edge"
