Hi all,

MIL came on at the weekend, followed by Adblue fault warning on the dash.

Took to an Audi specialist yesterday & the underside of the car is covered in crystallised Adblue. The pipe is split & so is the top of the injector. £1,100 to replace those parts. Or to be thorough, £2,000ish to replace the whole system.

Plus,

Error code was thrown up p191a loss of crankshaft synchronisation. Sounds like the timing chain & tensioner are stretched but is there any value in trying more minor stuff first, like a sensor or changing the battery? Or could it be related to the adblue failure?

2016 A6 C6.7, 3.0 BiTDI (320) Avant. Serviced since I bought it in 2918 at 31k miles by Audi & I changed the intervals from long life to 10K/annual while I’ve had it too, to try to look after her. Fat lot of good it’s done me lol. All advice from people who know these faults very much appreciated.

Thanks all.

Hi - I've worked on plenty of these BiTDI cars and not seen that sync issue, its worth investigating this with further checks before looking at chains.
The adblue issue I can map out so no need to spend £2k on that .

Im based in Old Windsor near Heathrow if you need help.
