Diagnostic options

Posting here as I've just picked up an 8L S3, I'm wondering what the options are with regards to getting a diagnostic tool like vagcom. I see there.isna lite.version but not sure what cable to get to use with it?

Really just want to make sure no issues as there isn't much 'go' under 2700 rpm in second for example, it seems to take a while to get some response. Although it's not lumpy as such....

I have vcdslite with blue kkl lead from ebay. It cannot do everything, shows and clears faults mainly and access a few measuring blocks, I also have vagcanpro which is essentially a copy of vagcom..

Odbeleven is pretty good all odb based and if you get the more expensive nextgen it supports all of the VAG range (instead of 8l 8n mkiv) and a couple of other manufacturers including updates. Nextgen also supports iPhone.

I also use visualme7logger but that never worked on my 8l amk... it does on other people's though, also uses the the same blue kkl
