so probably around a year ago my power steering went stiff all of a sudden. Not completely gone, just very heavy. No shuddering or noises or anything, no leaks or anything obvious with the pump or rack. I’m convinced it’s the servotronic solenoid however my mechanic doesn’t agree as there are no error codes. His only solution was to replace the pump and rack for £3k which obviously I don’t want to do. I’ve still been able to drive it fine, it’s just annoying.
Has anyone had this issue and resolved it by replacing the solenoid? Any other suggestions? B8 A4 Avant 211.
