Hi folks.
I recently bought an A4 Avant for my other half, which is carrying the CDUC engine code.

Last week it gave me the glow-plug dashboard light and went into limp mode. I got it home and put VCDS on it, which gave me a generic G31 fault code which pointed me to MAP sensor behind the headlight. My apologies but I neglected to save the DTCs exact Pxxx fault code. ANYWAY, new MAP sensor required please. Fair enough.

Fitted New MAP sensor this morning, took it for a drive and it's throwing me a code again:
Now, please be gentle with me, I have VCDS but I don't know my way around it - I use it almost exclusively to replace rear brakes! So any advice will need to be written for an utter ****** (me, in this case). But if anybody can point me in likely directions for the below, I'd be so unbelievably grateful!

Does a MAP sensor require re-coding? I was under the impression that it was Plug&Play and you didn't need to 'teach' it.

If it's anything to go by, the car currently boosts a few hundred RPM higher with the new MAP sensor, before going into Limp Mode, than it did before, with the old MAP sensor.
This could be down to atmospheric conditions I suppose, or how i brought the boost up, but maybe it's useful, maybe it's not.

The replacement sensor is identical Bosch number and genuine Audi/VAG part, with the Audi Part Number on it, so not a chinese 50p ebay special.

Hi NHN,
I don't have a Haynes/Bentley manual on this car, and no multimeter on-hand, so not on this occassion. I VISUALLY checked for breaks and poor appearing connections and the contacts were clean on the loom side.

I suppose my fundamental question began with whether there are common issues that the forum sees with these fault codes. And wheher the MAP sensor required re-coding.
