Hi All
I have the b8 3.0tdi with 345mm s4 front discs and red stuff pads (which are maybe half worn max)

when I brake hard at high speed, and get it hot, the front right brake starts to grind and give a bump once per rotation

Anplease?

Its done it for the past year

when driving normally it doesn’t do it

As above, hard breaking of course will heat them up vastly but make a warp more noticeable also imho.

I would get the wheel off and inspect. Maybe even remove the pads and check out the surface? My front pads I just changed not only had the metal piston clip snapped off, but the pad on the other side had it's anti-squeal backing plate thingy welded onto the caliper. I suspect they were cheap pads though.

I'd defo get everything off and take a look.. if it only happens when hot and really leaning on the brakes, maybe something else expanding and catching?! Is there any odd feel from the peddle?

I ran EBC reds on my old Mk4 R32 Golf and they warped a new set of MTEC disks.. i was not a happy goose. Switched to EBC yellows and have never had an issue since in 12 years.
