A5 B8 (2008) with 2G MMI - which AMI unit do I need for retrofit?

Hi guys,

Looking to retrofit AMI to my 2008 A5 that currently has 2G MMI with nav & cd changer, but no aux in. (Ultimately I want to add wireless apple carplay, so will require either AMI or aux-in)

Looking on EKTA it doesnt show any part number for the AMI interface. I've found a couple on ebay, but they have quite different part numbers. Can anyone confirm if either will work - and if they will just plug straight in or will I need an extra cable? (I have VCDS for the config).

Part numbers:

• 8T0 035 785A
• 4E0 057 785F

I may also need to update the firmware too - but I will do that anyway regardless once I've got hold of the files.

Hi,

just a cheeky bump, hoping someone can help me determine which of these 2 items I need to get?

I'm assuming it's easy enough to play from a USB stick with the correct cable? (I know the USB cables allow phone connection to play music, but unsure if it'll play straight from a USB stick)
