I recently bought audi a3 s-line sportback 2006. I can connect my huawei p20 lite with the car and listen music but when I try to use buttons on my steering wheel then they don't work, with radio they work but not with bluetooth. If I press some buttons then it says "no function", can I set some functions with VCDS or something is faulty?

Also what is this cable coming from the glove box?

You probably have same sort of aftermarket Bluetooth module, because 8P prefl did come with Bluetooth only for calls, not music, and that also was an option only with RNS-e (navigation). There are different kind of Bluetooth adapters, some came with wiring to work with steering wheel controls, most don't.
That cable is for connecting older style iPod.

As above, that's aftermarket & most dont offer any wheel control.

I think you can use the MFSW buttons when you use a bluetooth adapter for the AMI unit (requires you to have the AMI unit itself as well with the 30ish pin connector).
In case your bluetooth module is replacing the AUX port, you can't (nor can you see which track is playing on your DIS/FIS or RNS-E unit).
