I wouldn't buy a car ever again without a test drive made that mistake with my current car .

Unless you can get a day test drive you don’t learn enough about a car from a quickie to really inform a purchase imho - well not much more than from Just sitting in the car…

Bought my last car blind and with modern cars being so good, it’s hard to go too far wrong, and that went fine. I’m doing it again so hopefully all good this time too

No issue at all my friend, no playing games here though, S3 does nowt for me in the 8Y guise. But as you rightly pointed out, everyone likes different things.

Best colour on the 8y rs3 imho…. Ignoring potential exclusive orders.
Daytona grey is a classy colour shows off feature lines like most others dont but Tornado Grey beats it though...thing with Daytona is every 3rd audi off the production line is covered in it

But you can’t get that without going exclusive… hence what I said…

Personally I would only be concerned by non rs cars having the same colour if i had paid for an exclusive colour, which Daytona is not.

I wonder if audi are pricing them like that to put people off buying their demos off the show room floor.
Then again some ejit will still get their wallet (or purse) out.... don't want to discriminate idiocy!

if l buy a RS3 l want it to be noticed it needs some colour on it as the interior colour is non existent l dont want it to blend in

Fair enough. I buy a car for me to drive, not for others to see me in it…

Tbh I’ve got the exact opposite view on that - I don’t want people to notice it as I don’t want people to spot it and want to come steal it!!

I know it’s a S3 but for those waiting on a carbon black Sportback……there’s your spoiler

One of my favourite colours, if I remember correctly I’ve had 4 Audis that colour but fancied a change of colour so now I’m on a Desire Red Formentor.

There's me. I find the HUD distracting, it's fine during the day but at night even on it's dimmest setting it's just annoying and in the way, and I have it all adjusted to the lowest part of the display as well. There's nothing wrong with the graphics or anything on it. BMW one that is, never had an Audi with one.

I’m waiting for the “delete spoiler option”

Looks like it’s just stuck on so I imagine a hairdryer and some tugging would sort it.

What are you so uncertain about the car that you need the test drive to purchase? as all of us are parting with the same amount with no test drive....? and visiting a showroom as many times as you are is not doing yourself any favors either
Have to say, always been keen to try a car before I put any money down.
I test drove a TT in 2016 and couldn’t get comfortable in the seat. It was the classic, I was sitting on the seat, not in it. Went to VW and Golf R seat was great. I was sitting in the seat and felt secure.

Or..... leave the car parked out on the street one night and your local intolerable scrote will kindly remove it free of charge, job done

That might be a safer bet than asking the dealer to remove it, lol

Do you really think i'm going into the showroom making a nuisance of myself? a drive past the showroom and a walk through where all the newly delivered cars are parked to see if their demo car is there is enough, I just dont trust sales man talk period when they are telling me their demo hasnt arrived yet when all around Audi dealers are offloading their demo's for a quick profit.

First I know just how good a Golf R drives, I'm a 'little' concerned that Audi have felt the need for wider front wheels and tyres and Semi slicks to post the time around the Nurburgring which is only 15 seconds quicker than a std tyre equiped Golf 8R, almost as if they are trying to hide or cover up something with those larger fronts, as much as I like the 5 cyl sound the feel of the car is more important to me.

And then you say this after asking me why I need a test ride?
Well i test drove a S3 2015 before l got my own first demo car had magride and my car didn't huge mistake hated that S3 sold it as soon as l broke even on the pcp.

So you drove a car with mag ride and then ordered one without and then complain about it ***?

I test drove both the S3 and the Golf R 7.5 (In 2017) both cars with the options I wanted before deciding the Golf would run 4 rings around the S3, just watch Carwow between Golf 8R and S3........................Cars are too expensive to make mistakes and regret what you have purchased

I was hoping to take a look at Shrewsbury demo launch edition but they have sold it so won’t be going out for demo. Shame as I’d have happily purchased it
Shrewsbury audi haven’t had one or won’t be getting one until next year.

70k and launched a few times every day until it’s available in January. Carefully washed every few days at the dealership through winter, bargain…
Yes it would be the amount of launches that would make me hesitant these days, In the past I have bought quite a few Audi 'ex demo' cars (A3 2.0T Quattro/Mk2 TTS launch car/Mk2 TTRS and a R8 V10) all great cars with no issues over the time I owned them.
It's not as if you can thrash the insides out of performance cars these days and a few quick acceleration blasts arent going to harm it, but a lot of launches? I'm not sure about

I bought my current S3 new and because I had previously owned the 8P and PFL 8v S3's I didn't give it a second thought that the exhaust note would be any different how wrong was I the 2019 S3 with the GPF exhaust note is terrible its so muted it lacks tone compared to the pre GPF S3's also no blip on the upshift . So that's my reason I will never buy again without a test drive it was an expensive mistake .

If I would of drove a couple of mile in the car and heard the exhaust my mistake would of been avoided and I would of walked away .

I may be one of the few, but I love it!!! And I'm in my mid 30's not a teenager
On my 'hunt' for a dealer with a demo car the dealer said they had a Carbon on order available, I said ''I'm too old for a spoiler like that'' the girl replied ''Your never too old for a spoiler''

The Rs3 8y and 8R seats are very comfortable

You've got to go aftermarket if you want a new car to sound well. I'll 100% be getting one fitted to my RS3 so it doesn't sound like someone has shoved toilet roll up the exhaust

I find that if I demo a car and never think twice about the seats they will be OK, If I start going back/forth, up and down during the demo theyre wrong. I'm not convinced on 8R blue pattern though, just black middles would have done for me

The dealer spoilt my TTS, the leather seats went saggy on the squab, dealer said there was a new improved squab so fitted a pair, they were so hard that the seat I had previously been sitting in I was now sitting on, made them far too high

I don't like the blue pattern seats in the 8R and would have to upgrade to leather . Trying to get a test drive in a 8R in the next few days .

Before you do search youtube to find out how to put the ESC into sport, its very restrictive otherwise and will flash at you as you push on a bit and its not obvious where it is hidden
Basically
Select Vehicle, swipe vehicle, select brakes and the ESC mode will appear
You can set a shortcut apparently, then its swipe down and select it, confirm it, mush easier than just pressing the ESC button !
