What engine ? Reliability

Currently run a B6 Quattro with the bullet proof 1.9 130 PDi lump, i am thinking of getting something a bit newer, a B7 or possibly a B8, but which engine is the most reliable or what to avoid ?, i shall be keeping the B6 BTW

Wish I had never got rid of my b5.5 1.9 pd engine Passat. Best car I ever owned.
I have a 3.0 bitdi A6 C7 now and it's amazing but still miss my b6!
