ANYONE KNOW OF ANY GOOD WINDOW TINTERS AROUND READING AREA THAT WOULD DO MY WINDOWS AFTER 6PM WEEKNIGHTS AND FOR AROUND £250 PRICE MARK FOR AN S3 CHEERS
 
im getting mine done for £130 , but the guy is in gloucester , he does a good job as well
 
IS IT TRUE THAT IF THERE ISNT 70% VISION IN THE FRONT SIDE WINDOWS THAT THE POLICE CAN GIVE YOU 3 POINTS AND £ 60 FINE.
 
not sure , i have had my windows tinted medium on the front , and never been pulled , the police can tell you to take them out , not give u a fine and points , they give u a producer , and u have to get them took out , then get a garage to say they have been taken out on the producer ,

he is a mate of mine , that is why he does it so cheap , he usually charges about £180 to do a s3 , which is still cheap , and his results are second to none , i can get his number if anyone is interested ,
 
Tints are always bit of a grey area i know for sure you can ahve the rear windows asdark as you want but they need to see you through the front windows to make them legal.

Be carefull on a silver car though mine came up really dark next to silver paintwork.

mine are dark tints done when i bought the car. got pulled on the M25 the other night for them, he let me off with a warning but told me to take them off, he said if hes sees me again then its a £30 fine and a producer, light smoke is ok on the front, he also said if there is less than 25% light coming through the front side windows it was 3 points and a £60 fine. i'm a bit weary around coppers on the motorway now. i just drive with the windows down now! LOL
good job he didn't catch me going for it against a noggy blue B6 S4!
lets just say it would have been an instant ban!

jus booked my car in for tints £180 in Reading,doin it this fri,light smoke all round as i have heard from a few people dark tints on silver cars look a bit silly,:blackrs4:
 
i went to pentagon in reading for mine, you wont find a better result. cost £250 but i also had anti smash film.

Anychance thats chris from toptints? He did mine... awesome job... did mine for a similar price in return for free entry too the club lol... plus one of my gf's mates managed to scratch the film on the inside of the drivers door glass. He replaced the film for free... top bloke!:anbet:

Im pretty certain the law states you have to allow 70 or 75% of light throught the front window... and as the glass itself restricts the light its almost impossible to get a tint that light... but Ive had a light tint on the front of mine with dark round the back for months... touch wood not been pulled. Also with the back being dark it gives the impression of being alot darker.:rulez:

i had a quote off pentagon glass and they quoted 500quid! Edward why did yours only cost 250?
 
i did sorta no a guy down there but cant belive he would give me 50% off! not to sure but i did only pay £250. you are better getting it done some where else for that amount of money! i think sextons do tinting as well call them for a price!

The big liquid mate... im the white guy out of the 3 that work on the front door... or theres sumtimes an albanian guy aswell on a saturday with us.
Had to look after chris the one night... sum1 spiked him and I found him in a dribbling messing in the street. He hasnt been up town since... awesome at his job though... every1 I know recomends him. So if anyone wants the number of a good bloke in gloucester give me a PM

Sounds a complete rip off! average price I think would be £170-180... or if you can pay cash you can find it cheaper like I did.
 
stick with light smok on a silver car and you can't go wrong, I had a previous silver GTi done dark, took it back the next day and paid again - didn't want the drug dealer image.


On my current S3 I'm considering just getting the rear done with 50% and this should provide a smoked effect all round.
I usually pay around £150, take a look on ukmkivs-forum there is a guy on there user name Tinterliam, he does an excellent job is now self employed so will travel if you can get anyone else interested, he is based in Leicestershire.
 
Whats wrong with the drug dealer look? Nowt wrong with selling viagra anyways... im helping people lol ... I have very light on the front and dark round the back..... the dark all round will not only give you the dealer look but also attention from the police and a nice £30 fine!
 
i had light smoke all round on my last car (GTI) and i will be doing same for my S3. im from lancashire so if anyone knows a good tinter then get in touch!

anyone tried tintmaster and mobile tinters similiar?
 
Don't know if it's worth it or not, but i'm happy to swap my tinted glass (rears and 4 side windows) for some standard clear glass as I don't like tints.
 
S3IZZO- where are you from?what tints have you got? how easy would it be to change them glass over?
 
Nottinghamshire, the tints were done a month before I bought the car so can't say who they were done by. (They did a good job though)

As for swapping glass i've got no idea at all, hence why i'm not sure if it's worth doing or not. - I am going to either get them removed or buy new glass all round at some point though depending on how easy/hard it is to get the tints removed. (I can imagine it being a fiddly/time consuming job removing the film)
 
It takes 10min per glass too remove the tint if you know what you doing. The drivers doors are easy too take the glass out of. The rest are a pain in the @ss!
 
jus had my windows tinted got the car back this morning,im very pleased with them for £180 cant complain either,:rockwoot:
