Had car in at Audi today for it's first service. Car is 12 months old and done 5.5k miles.
Car was set to 'Flexible' service schedule but they rang me a few weeks ago to get it 'booked in' for it's first service (unprompted) as it was almost a year old. I said on phone it's not come up to say it's due anything but that I thought I probably should be on Fixed schedule anyway because of the type of driving I do so yeh fine get it booked in, person on phone agreed.
First thing they said this morning when I dropped it off was "why have you brought it in, it's not due", "cus you told me to!" then had same conversation about being on flexible or fixed, then they said will take it in and change the service schedule to fixed at same time.
Rang me about lunchtime, "car all ready, no issues found".
Got there just before closing. Obviously wanted me out quickly but I just had a quick glance at the health check. "Other - passenger side under tray hanging down, requires further investigation to see what is missing or broken" -£99.
"Why on earth didn't you investigate this today while you had the car for the whole day or at least mention it on the phone". "Oh it's a different department to service, were you at work? Maybe you missed us ringing". "You only rang once and I answered it" "oh well I'm not sure, do you wanna get that booked in Sir?". "No not now, I have to go but surely this would be covered under warranty?", "Not necessarily, the investigation would confirm that". Urg, that's an argument for another day.
Just had a look under car and yeh small panel behind front wheel hanging down, looks like it's just unclipped but no matter how hard I pressed couldn't get it to clip back in. I'm pretty certain it couldn't come away but will have to get it seen to.
Means another crap journey through morning traffic to get to the dealer, paying another £15 for courtesy car and leaving work early to collect and also them trying to charge me £99 for it.
Plus, just checked the service indicator in car and they've totally reset it so now shows oil change next due in 1 year and inspection due in 2 years, so now I'm totally out of sync.
Apologies for long post, just wanted to vent somewhere, the whole thing is just geared up to fleece us for as much money as possible with a nice covering over a shower of incompetence.
