what is the differnce between the c valve and f valve my a3 quattro has the c but should have the f , i know the c valve is an early 1.8t valve ?

f is just the later updated part to replace the old c
you will find per 2000 with "C" and there after with "F"

why was it updated is f better than c?

dunno nothing to change performance though. VW group parts just do that, as there revised the last letter changes.

a and f are same operation ie NO extra boost
