Steering wheel has become very slippy

Steering wheel has become very slippy ,
polished even ..

Any ideas as , how to restore some sort of grip ?

Might be worth a try giving it a clean & treatment with a leather restorer kit, I found my drivers seat less slippery when going round corners after I did the same

I don't think its leather ?
It looks more like plastic to me ,
has a shine on the more used areas

Good clean with an ''all purpose cleaner'' if it's not leather & if it is any decent leather cleaner will do. you will be amazed at the amount of crap that comes off.

S3 steering wheel is leather... the shiny slippy stuff is dirt... a good clean with a decent leather cleaner will get it back...

I use the Leather Repair Company's kit myself... brought mine up a treat...

On closer inspection , in daylight , the inner rim is stitched and , yes , its actually leather
looks like chromed shoe leather at the moment ..
