It's behind the timing cover held in by bolts to the block

1.6 fsi is external. On other engines where The water pump is internal, It’s commonly changed when the cam belt is changed.

Sorry I didn’t state for which engine, it’s on a 8P S3 so will it be internal? Cause it’s for when I change the cambelt but the guy was unsure if the water pump is internal or external, so it’s the one that comes with the kit?

Yes that’s internal. The cam belt kit doesn’t come with a water pump. You need to buy that separately.
