iPhone cable

so I bought a “genuine” ami cable for my iPhone but when I plug it in it just says device not supported? Any idea?

What year car do you have and what iPhone do you have? And what colour is the ring at the end of the cable?

Iirc the white cable is needed for newer cars/phones and the yellow for older ones.

I think so, that’s what worked for me anyway. My local Audi dealer let me try out the various coloured cables when I was buying one so that might help if you live near one.
